The hotel premises and hotels are very well kept up and clean. The room was one of the nicest I’ve stayed in: looking fresh and new, clean,
The heated pools were still bit ”chilly” for our personal taste, but that’s just coming from people who really likes warm things.
Food in the restaurants was of good quality, but there was very little in the way of variation. Everything is quite ”bland”, very little salt or any other seasoning. Good for old people, but not a delight for anyone else. There are four restaurants in the hotel. Two are ”walk in freely” and two are per reservation. Problem is that the two ”just walk in” ones and even the other reservation one serve exactly the same food. There was supposed to be Grill food and Canarian food in Atlantico on different week days. Only difference to the normal buffet that I could discern was few cheeses that were Canarian ones. Gordon Ramsay would have a breakdown on the amount of food they reheat on the meals. The Asian restaurant had actual different flavors and was overall a nice experience (book your seat early). With the exception of soggy fried bananas.
In the restaurants I felt as if I was bit of an uninvited disturbance that was preventing the staff from preparing the room for the next service (whilst current service had an hour left). Being used to similar service in Finland, we felt quite at home.
If Gran Canaria is your pick, this hotel is a good choice. I for one will consider other destinations.
