Grand Junction Great Bear Lake Vacation

My family had such a great time at our Grand Junction Vacation. The owner was awesome! He responded promptly to any questions that we had. The house fit our needs perfectly. The lake was not that large but we did enjoy our boat rides on the pontoon. Swimming was excellent. I would definitely stay here again.

Awesome Lake House

Such a wonderful place and host!! We had the best family week being lake people with sand castles, swimming, pontoon, fishing, kayaking, and campfires! The house is perfect for a bigger group like ourselves (10 adults and 3 grandkids) with loads of sleeping options. Chris was the most responsive host with very quick replies to any questions! Welll stocked kitchen, 2 refrigerators and nice seating for meals inside and outside made staying in for all meals a breeze. We also enjoyed the bike trail nearby into South Haven. Again, such a perfect place and thank you to Chris for sharing his slice of paradise with us!!

Great place for families

Everything was organized and labeled. So many activities all over the property inside, and out for kids and adults. The boat and swim pad were big hits along with the ping pong, kayaks and paddle boards. The beach was perfect for young kids. We all had a great time!!!

Great memories made!

This property is fabulous! Host was attentive and prompt to respond to our questions. Everything you need is here! More amenities than we could use in a week! Everything from sand pails to pontoon boat, yard games to ping pong! We brought way more accessories than we needed to, because this place has it all!! We made so many memories and would stay here again!!

Wonderful place for our anniversary reunion.

Just a suggestion-glass plates are impractical. Just get more dishwasher safe plastic ones. We would put a pic of the hall to the upstairs on the Vrbo ad. We purchased a gate to keep little ones on the first floor. Didn’t need to. Having the boat was a definite plus. Had a great time with our neighbors. Thanks for opening your home’

Great cabin/house on a quiet private lake

We had 11 people ranging from 2 to 61 with plenty of room for more. Fantastic amenities inside and out, all in great shape! Outside there are kayaks, paddle boards, a pontoon boat, beach toys, outside games, fire pit, grill, hammock and swing - all were used! Inside the house is fully equipped and organized with labels so you can easily find things and know where to return them. We had some rainy, windy, chilly weather so the abundance of indoor games and the ping pong table were appreciated. Chris and Julie were fantastic hosts! They were quick to respond to some questions we had and even provided a personal touch when they found out it was our 40th anniversary. Good people who take pride in their home and sharing it with others!

Perfect Family Vacation

This is our second time visiting this lake but first time staying at this property and it was AMAZING!! It is clear how much thought and preparation the host has put into this house to ensure their guests have a great visit. Plenty of room for our family to enjoy meals, games and movie nights together. Lots of fun aspects that the kids enjoyed like ping pong in the garage, shuffle board in the upstairs den, the hook and ring game on the back deck, swings/hammocks hanging from trees and the hidden loft over the hallway. The lake is beautiful and we loved our daily boat/kayak rides. Plenty of beach/water toys that kept the kids entertained for hours everyday. Very relaxing and peaceful trip! This is our second time renting from this host and both times he has been engaged, extremely friendly and very responsive. Highly recommend and hope to keep the tradition going by coming back in another two years!!

Great stay at the house!

This was our first stay at the house and we were extremely pleased. When we arrived, we were impressed by the beautiful plantings / garden and how the yard was well manicured and taken care of. Once inside we were impressed on how very clean and well kept it was. Inside: There was beautiful woodwork throughout. Spacious and comfortable areas for hanging out, playing games and eating /dining for our crew. We took advantage of the 2 full sized fridges. There was even a work area for one of family members who had to work remotely, which was nice. Fun stuff: The ping pong and shuffleboard tables were a hit. Lots of comfortable outdoor seating with great views of the lake. The small sandy beach area along with numerous toys was a big hit with the kids. And plenty of seating for adults to keep an eye on them. A lot of us took advantage of the kayaks on the lake. The large floating pad and pontoon boat were likewise a big hit. There were plenty of life preservers for all sizes and ages. A couple of us used the kayaks and the dock to some fishing. The fire pit was nice for a peaceful evening of “smores”. Chris was great to work with – quick and responsive.

Amazing Lake Cottage!!!

Honored to have been the first guests to stay at this amazing cottage. We had two families staying here with kids ranging from 8 up to 14 and we all had a blast. The Great Bear Lake is a really nice lake and for most of the week we felt like we had the whole lake to ourselves. The lake has sandy beaches, large enough for towing/skiing, and has some great fishing. Water quality was nice and the lake was a great temp for swimming. We were really impressed with all the details and all the time, money, and thought that the owners put into the place. Recently renovated and expanded, the space was great for our two families and the guests that visited us. Appreciate how well things were organized and labeled around the cottage. So many features as well. We spent a bunch of time using the 5 paddle boards, the 4 kayaks, and the kids spent hours on the swim pad. We kept busy and greatly enjoyed the lake and all these toys. In fact so busy with the lake that we barely got to enjoy the game room in the garage or the game room upstairs. So much to do!!! Every night we wrapped it up around the fire pit. A great environment to relax at, especially with the overhead lights. Rooms were very comfortable and when you closed those black out shades it made it hard to wake up in the morning.....perfect for vacation and getting away from work. Lastly, we greatly appreciate the owner’s efforts in making sure they came across as great hosts. Appreciate all the attention to detail, all the many ways we could entertain ourselves, and their responsiveness to any questions we had. Overall a great week making memories that we will certainly cherish!

So much fun

We were a family group of 6 kids aged 4-12 and 8 adults. We had an amazing time here. The house was well equipped with everything we needed. The pontoon boat, kayaks and paddle boards were a big hit. Beds were comfortable. Lots of room for us all to gather at meals. Chris was great to communicate with. We created so many great memories!

Great Bear Lake in Michigan

Beautiful home with many many extras. The babies played at the beach. The middles/bigs used the kayaks and paddleboard‘s and the seniors use the pontoon boat. With evening campfires, we spent most of the day outside in wonderful August weather. But there were many possibilities for indoor entertainment if the weather hadn’t cooperated. Exploring the house was a lot of fun …and I’m sure there were many extras that we have not yet discovered.

Family Vacation

We had such great weather we spent very little time inside so didn’t take advantage of the games, etc. Loved how things were labeled in the home; made it so easy! The bathroom set up was a little awkward for our family but manageable. Most of us had AT & T and this cell service didn’t work great but I loved being disconnected.

Lovely lake house option

From the time we booked a year ago for our kids and their children to join us for a relaxing vacation, the communication and property information was seamless and very much as described. Excellent experience and would book the property again if the opportunity came up.

Great Bear Lake

Chris’s property was clean, well organized, stocked with kayaks, paddle boards, a pontoon boat, yard games, beach toys for smaller kiddo… Our crew had many fishermen and they had great success catching bass from the lake. The backyard also boasts a Bonfire pit stocked with wood, plenty of chairs, extra chairs and s’more spears. There are also outdoor tree lights, a hammock and a tree swing are located under the mature maple trees. There are also two large outdoor tables for additional opportunities to enjoy summer on the lake. The interior is beautifully decorated as a log cabin lake house, fully stocked kitchen, bathrooms, everything has its place and is labeled so you can return them to their proper location. The garage was converted to a ping pong room with a wrap around couch, large fan to Stay cool, extra refrigerator, blue tooth speaker…. Hours of fun had by teens and adults. Chris was wonderful to work with. He answered my questions right away and was very friendly and accommodating to our family. We highly recommend this lake rental if you want a fabulous property to enjoy with a large family.

This home has a wide variety of indoor and outdoor spaces for both relaxing & activities. Our crew fully enjoyed the ping pong, corn-hole, fire pit, outdoor grill, shuffleboard & kayaks. It is set in a lovely quiet community perfect for a getaway from the “hustle and bustle.”

Perfect Family Vacation

All I can say is it doesn't get any better than this! There were 14 of us, ages 10 months to 91 years old and there was more than enough space for everyone to be comfortable. The "Secret Room" was our littles favorite place in the house! The home is extremely clean, well stocked and oh so organized (My favorite part)! There was nothing not thought of right down to extra toothpaste and band aids should you need them. The sandy Beach and Calm waters were perfect for our little ones and enjoyed just as much by the adults. The quiet lake made it perfect to teach the kids how to Kayak and Paddleboard. Because the lake was so quiet, we were able to anchor the pontoon boat in the cove and let the kids (and adults) jump off and swim! By far one of the favorite things to do! The fire pit was a nightly favorite for the adults once all the kids were tucked in and asleep! Chris and Julie were both very responsive and extremely kind. Heck, we even got eggs out of the deal! You can tell how well loved this home is and how many wonderful memories have been made here. Thank you for letting our family share in those memories while making so many of our own.

Great fun for Family of 15

Truly enjoyed our stay at Great Bear Lake. Perfect rental for Grandma, Grandpa, our adult kids and 6 grandkids. We swam, boated, kayaked, paddle boarded, fished, played games and told campfire stories . No need to go anywhere else. A very organized, well kept home. The best VROB we have ever stayed!

Spectacular in every way!

We had 6 adults And 5 grandchildren The space was perfect! The pontoon, paddle boards, kayaks, lily pad and swimming off the dock! The grandkids enjoyed fishing and finding turtles was a big hit! The bonfire with beautiful lights surrounding us was magical! The hammock swings were also a peaceful way to relax. The deck was absolutely amazing drinking coffee in the morning and looking at the view! Great time! Can’t wait to make my family album so we can cherish all the beautiful blessed memories ❤️❤️❤️
