Plover Retreat - Cute Cabin Close to Town, 5 min. from beach

Welcome to the Plover Retreat, a cozy cabin in Grand Marais. Our cute two bedroom plus sleeping porch cabin, is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy nature. Enjoy quality bedding and towels as you 'rough it' in our cute cabin. Though only a few minutes from town, our cabin and its surrounding yard feel secluded and private. Enjoy the first cup of coffee in the morning on our deck and watch the humming birds zip around looking for food. Lazy, quiet days lend themselves to reading a book or putting together a puzzle on the enclosed porch while still getting to enjoy the scene outside.

Just a short walk from our property is the beach access for one of Lake Superiors prettiest spots: five to ten minutes on foot turn right on H-58 towards town, turn right on Ellen Street to a public beach. Sugary sand and shallow water for swimming meet up with the mouth of the Sucker River; the perfect spot to spend an afternoon.

As the day wears on and night fall begins, be sure to enjoy a small camp fire under the stars. Roast some marsh mellows, sing songs or tell a few tales of times gone by. Reconnect with family and friends and enjoy a slower paced life on vacation with us.

False advertising on amenities. It was listed there would be laundry and there was not. I reached out to management and she said several others were upset about it too because of a “glitch” in the app. She said to use the coin laundry at the camp ground across town…When asked more questions she completely ghosted me… very unprofessional and frustrating.

Perfect little town for a getaway. We stayed for 3 nights and explored the area. The restaurants were great, the beaches were beautiful and the cabin was cozy to come back to. Nice and quiet, offered the right amount of privacy and the bonfire area was perfect. Highly recommend.

Girls weekend

The plover retreat was exactly as listed. Small 3 bedroom cabin. It was cute. Close to town in a quiet area. My only negative comments are that communication was not the best with the host and 1 of the beds need to be replaced.

The cuttest little cabin in Michigans UP

This cabin is beautiful. There are so many well thought out little details and the property management are very attentive. Our little dog didn't want to leave the arm chair! There are a lot of birds on the property, so great for watchers. We also saw a beaver swimming in the jnlet. I would highly reccomend for famlies and have told several friends about it.

Perfect for a Grand Marais getaway!

My husband, dog, and I had a great time staying at Plover Retreat! Loved the cabin. Beds were comfortable. Easy access to the town, beaches, and trails. Overall great experience!

Quaint Little Cabin

This little cabin is cute and quaint. The location is convenient, as it is close to town. The lot is also private, with trees providing some seclusion. Our trip was enjoyable, and the cabin provided what we needed, but there are a few things that could’ve made the stay a bit more comfortable. For one there’s no air conditioning, although the host did provide fans. The stove, is very old and did not cook our food all the way through burning only the outside. The Mattresses were also too firm and likely old for our liking. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but some upgrades are needed.

Cozy cabin

The Plover Retreat is an adorable, cozy cabin. Close to downtown Grand Marais and a short drive to Lake Superior and Pictured Bay Rocks National Lakeshore. The cabin was clean, with day to find and perfect. It was just my husband and myself, we enjoyed the deck and cooking a few meals in the kitchen.

Plover Retreat great spot when visiting Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore

Plover Retreat is a cozy, clean and comfy cottage about a 15 minute walk from the beach, restaurants and shops of picturesque Grand Marais. It was very clean with a well equipped kitchen and peaceful location. Great for a couples getaway or kids with a cool loft bed. Pets are also welcome. We’ll be back!

Wonderful cabin close to pictures rocks and yopperlights

This cabin was small but perfect for our stay. It fit all of us very well and the description was very accurate. I had sent two messages thru Vrbos messaging system close to our stay but they went unanswered. They weren’t big questions. Although I was a little Bergius because I hadn’t received check in instructions. It didn’t matter as the key box was unlocked when we got there and were able to get into the property easily. Other than that it was great!! If you’re looking for a cabin close to pictured rocks and a beach to search for yopperlights, this is the place!! It was so easy!!

Grand Marias Excellent Cabin!

This cabin was spic and span in every room, as well as the porch, drive, path to door. Decorating in the cabin from my eye says professionally done. The kitchen was supplied just as stated on-line. The hardware store has a pretty good selection of groceries! People were very friendly and helpful in town, and everywhere we stopped. Location is good also. We went to Picture Rocks and Munising one day and to Tahquamenon Falls and White Fish Point Shipwreck Museum another day. We would definitely recommend this cabin for your stay.

Grand Marais a Wonderful Location

The property is in a secluded location close to town. The beds were comfy and the cabin is cozy. The inside of the cabin was clean (minus the sand in the shower) but the porch is in desperate need of a sweep. The cushions on the chairs were dusty and not at all inviting to sit on. There is wireless available but no password. Looking up maps and details about locations is not available because cell service in the area is spotty. The bears visiting the trash cans was entertaining but seeing bear scat intertwined with plastic is troublesome. The pictures in the VRBO listing showed Adirondack chairs around the fire pit but were not there. There is plastic chairs available but they were also dirty.
