The hotel is a bit dated and there were some odd smells in some of the areas, for example, the hallway near my room on the second floor smelled like an electrical fire. ”We found the hotel had old world charm but the wallpaper was peeling and our sink was constantly blocked. The staff, especially the manager, were extremely helpful. Breakfast was basic. Boiled eggs were frozen. We enjoyed reading about the history and the hotel must have looked splendid with the refurbishing in 1996. We think it needs another uplift or a significant reduction in cost.”
