”Arrived to find the place locked up and had to make a phone call for someone to come to the pub to give us our room key. Apparently there was a problem of having no electricity due to the heat. No evening meal available and no bar; breakfast was average, with some folk having to wait a long time for service. The place was clean and room was comfortable.”

”The Guinness Arms had character rooms and the hallway was just as nice. Our room had aircon and also a skylight which had retractable blinds if you wanted to look at the sky or not.
Room was clean and cosy with coffee and tea facilities. A bottle of water was also supplied with a selection of biscuits. Iron and board in cupboard for those who want to sort the creases out.
Hotel was quiet and calm just the way we like it, we stayed in the week so not sure what it would be like at the...

”Warm welcome and great old fashioned room. Just as expected. Evening meal was first class as was breakfast A very enjoyable stay again.”

”The double bed matress was really bad, probably the worst I have slept in. It has lots of potential but missed the mark on a few things. We had a double room but only 1 cup was in the room and 1 coat hanger. It had a mini fridge but wasn't working. It did have air con. Breakfast could be extended until at least 10.30 as a couple when we were there arrived at 10am to be told breakfast had finished. So as an urgent task replace all mattresses or at least Room 8”

”Unfortunately we only stayed one night, and did not want to leave, the house is amazing so old in places full of history and character lovely gardens, just when you think that’s enough there is a games room!
Great choice of breakfast just felt so welcome, relaxing in fact we found it magical !”
