My husband and I brought our puppy. He had a great time running around the yard and beach. We enjoyed our stay and hope to return. The property is beautiful and we were very happy to find a pet friendly place on the water and close to town.

We stayed for the weekend and couldn't have had a better time! The home is clean and lovely with a well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds and an unbeatable views! Very close to wineries, downtown Greenport and the Shelter Island ferry. Patrick, the owner, had great tips on local activities and was an all around great guy. Thank you! We'll be back! Patrick

We and our dog had a wonderful stay in this comfortable, light-filled home and enjoyed the expanse of lawn and beach and views. Screech owl bid us good night each evening and belted kingfisher good morning. Easy walk to town. Thank you Pat!

I am actually embarrassed for the owner of this property. I found this property unkept (stains everywhere on everything ) and depressed: house is tired and overused. No bare minimum to doing anything to refurbish a house stuck in time. The fact that there is no dishwasher or washing machine and that the bathroom is downstairs from the bedrooms is the least of the problems in this house that I feel should be condemned. If it wasn't for the little beach I would have left.

We had a really wonderful stay at Pat’s property. It’s a beautiful and peaceful setting with plenty of space for our kids to run around and explore. The house is charming as well, and feels very much like a home, not that sterile vacation house feel. Love that you can get there by train and walking into town is easy as well. We will definitely be back!

This is a great place to stay in Greenport. It has a private beach and is quiet and friendly. It's a 2-minute drive to town and shops, but you will want to spend your time enjoying the beautiful waterfront views.

The Gatehouse is an amazingly beautiful authentic property. The owner manager Pat— Who has lived there his entire life —-imbues all aspects of your stay with the love and pride he Has in the property. It is a very comfortable place to unwind with all of your needs met. I have already booked another stay and hope to return many more times.

The property, The Gate House, was absolutely beautiful. We loved the abundance of green space, perfect for morning walks with my pup amidst lush gardens. Enjoying nature and fresh air was a great way to start the day. The house was spacious and well-maintained, providing a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. It was also a short drive to various fabulous restaurants, making meal planning a breeze. Our host, Pat, was a true gem. He was always just a call away, ready to address any queries we had throughout our stay. His attentiveness made everything smooth and enjoyable. Our stay at The Gate House was nothing short of a delight. The combination of its unique features, the exceptional service of our host, and the overall comfort and relaxation it provided, made it an unforgettable experience. Property owner was friendly and helpful, house was clean and cozy, and the property was well-maintained and scenic. We stayed for 2 days with a toddler and 9 month old and everyone had a great and relaxing time. Highly recommend!

This is such a unique property and I feel lucky to have stayed here. The sunrises and sunsets are gorgeous. The owner is responsive and very interesting. I love the walkability into town for shopping and restaurants.
