”We had a last minute change on a holiday weekend when our original hotel booking was unexpectedly closed for repairs. The Hampton inn was further away but they were very accommodating with the last minute booking. Friendly staff, decent breakfast, clean room, well kept facilities.”

”We needed two beds close to the Cross-Sound Ferry and this ticked both of those boxes. However, not much beyond that. The rooms are dated and not particularly well-cleaned. An air freshener would at least try to hide the cigarette smell, but to no avail. We definitely had long hair in our beds that did not belong to any of us...
It did the job, but I cannot recommend, unfortunately.”

The negatives: foul smell of smoke, torn up old carpet, a weird hot tub in the room (mixed feelings about this because i have back problems), no coffee today (blamed on truck not coming, forcing me to walk across the street where Motel 6 clerk Mark graciously offered theirs!!)
There is more to say but I will talk to Expedia. The good is very good...
