This was our first trip to Hakone, so we can’t compare this hotel’s location to other areas, but we absolutely loved the peaceful atmosphere here. It’s perfect for anyone looking for quiet, rest, and truly attentive service. Our room with three beds was very spacious, comfortable, and had a beautiful view.
We enjoyed early walks by the lake and appreciated the convenience of having both dinner and breakfast on-site. We chose the Japanese dinner, which was presented beautifully, though we probably haven’t fully acquired the taste yet. The French breakfast, however, was excellent; the French toast was the best we’ve had, and the coffee was great as well. We were also lucky to catch a wonderful view of Mt. Fuji.
We didn’t use the onsen since it was public-only and we weren’t comfortable with that, but everything else made our stay very enjoyable. We rented a car, which made exploring the area simple, though it seems manageable by public transportation too, since the hotel runs a shuttle every 20 minutes (with an evening cutoff). The hotel is a bit older, but everything was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. Overall, a very relaxing and memorable stay.
