  • Discover the beauty of the Mimbres Valley from this 3-bedroom house. The Blue Crane Lodge offers enough space for up to 8 people to sleep comfortably with 5 beds from queen size to twin. Enjoy the relaxing, comfortable atmosphere and modern amenities like WiFi, AC, TV and radiant floor heating. With 2 bathrooms multiple guests will feel right at home. There is a laundry room with washer and dryer attached to the house. A huge fenced-in yard surrounds the property with xeriscape plants, some of which will attract hummingbirds and butterflies. A little outdoor nook provides a private area for reflection.
    There are many scenic drives nearby, some going into the Gila National Forest offering multiple hiking and biking trails catering to different skill levels. Lake Robert, Bear Canyon Lake, the Gila River and many more waterways offer decent fishing. Nearby forest has many scenic picnic areas. The valley is a great place to learn about the Mimbres Culture with ancient ruins such as the Mattocks pueblo at the Mimbres Culture Heritage Site. The Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument offers a glimpse into the lifestyle of the ancient Mogollon Pueblo culture. Throughout the area the awesome landscape provides many opportunity for photography and outdoor fun. The closest town Silver City is 20 minutes away.

We loved our stay, communication with host was Excellent. Easy to find, plenty of parking space. The house was so cute, very spacious, love that any window you looked out was a beautiful view of the valley and mountains. Inside was charming and inviting. We will definitely book again.

This place was awsome only thing we would say is that the property needs a tv for down time but over all great spot to have a weekend getaway.

No microwave and no freezer, but close to shopping and adventures.Comfy beds, beautiful views.Great little sitting area to enjoy a cup of coffee with a beautiful view.The 2 tables worked great. We used one for eating and one for games/crafting.Easy check in and check out. Very responsive to communication. During our stay we visited Silver City for BluesFest, hiked the Catwalk in Glenwood, checked out the City of Rocks, and visited Mogollon.

Location was close to Nan Ranch. Would of liked a larger freezer as cooler bags use freezer packs -not enough space for those and ice cube trays. Bed height too tall in both bedrooms. Shower not adequate for people needing shower chair, no hand held shower device. Open enough in house for use of walker and access to the front door. First time use of VRBO had no clue what to expect. Host was available for questions. Overall had a good experience.

Great New Mexico charm

Having grown up in New Mexico it was great to take a trip back and walk into this charming VRBO with authentic New Mexico decor. The living area is huge and inviting to do family stuff. And the AC is cold. The kitchen is roomy and has all the dishes and pots and pans you could need. The two main bedrooms have doors to the outside with screened metal so we could let the cool night air in and the bugs out and hear the New Mexico outdoors. The bunk bed setup off the kitchen worked great for the younger kids. We had one little issue and the host got on it and got it corrected as fast as possible. There is ample parking for the 20’ trailer we towed with us. It is centralized between many of the attractions, City of Rocks, lake Roberts, the Gila Cliff Dwellings and Silver City, while being far enough away from any hustle and bustle. We had a great stay!!!
