”Based on the pictures and ratings, I didn't realize that the structure was more like a motel and not a hotel. Meaning, you walked to your room from the outside. The walls were thin and you could hear conversations, noises from adjoining rooms. The grounds were beautiful and it was very clean, however. The AC was a noisy wall unit.
I can see where most would not have a problem with a motel type atmosphere, but for us, we prefer something different.”

”Very disappointed, this location was in Petoskey we paid a lot of money for this hotel. Had a check in late because the room wasn't clean yet. This is a king Lakeview I had to pay extra. Had a very small countertop like for half bathroom and the worst part is smelled like strong chemicals that burned my throat so bad. We left and came back and still so bad we had to leave. It ruined our entire visit and had to drive home 3 hours. Expedia charged me 95.00 to cancel in order to get my refund. I...

”Lovely place to stay in Petoskey, Michigan. It was our central location to come back to each evening after sailing in Traverse City, traveling to Mackinaw Island, or finding our way to Legs Inn through the Tunnel of Trees. We enjoyed the big porch, eating pizza with friends while we watched the sunset over the lake. Fresh cookies in our room daily! No room TV's to distract, but a nice game/TV/library room to use when you needed it. Also morning beverages available there if you were leaving...

”If anyone is planning on renting from this place, dont use room 12. Temperature went down to 45 degrees outside (night-time) and when I called the after hour assistance line ( who lives 5 hrs away) and explained that our unit was cold and need heat. Her response was, they were planning on turning the boiler in the am and for tonight they would issue a portable heater ( which helped a bit). The next day (I worked and came home at 7:30pm) , the room was still cold, the thermostat on the wall said...

”Very nice place. Clean. Good breakfast. Gave us extra towels and pillows when asked. Staff were polite and attentive. Price was reasonable. Only problem was that there were metal squares protruding on the bed frame and we kept hitting them on the backs of our legs when getting out of bed. Also, the pillow cases were “pilly” so they need to invest in new ones. We would stay again but bring our own pillow cases. Overall a good stay.”
