I must say, the hotel itself is absolutely beautiful. We arrived a few hours before the standard check-in time in hopes of an early check-in, but unfortunately, our room wasn’t ready until just five minutes before 4:00 PM. While we waited, we enjoyed some time by the pool, which was a pleasant way to pass the time.
One aspect that stood out as a bit unusual was the requirement to visit the concierge in order to receive our parking pass. It became clear that this was a way to introduce a timeshare presentation opportunity. While we understand this may be part of the resort’s business model, we found it disappointing to be approached with a sales pitch during what was meant to be a relaxing vacation. The concierge offered us a $100 gift card to book a time slot, claiming we wouldn’t have to attend the presentation. We explained we couldn’t commit as our schedule was still uncertain.
On the day of the proposed meeting, we informed John that we wouldn’t be able to attend. His response,“Would’ve been nice to know earlier as someone else could’ve taken this spot” felt unnecessarily curt and unprofessional, which unfortunately left a negative impression.
That said, the accommodations were wonderful. The room was the perfect size, and we especially appreciated the convenience of the kitchenette. The property itself is stunning and well-situated near excellent local restaurants. The beach in front of the resort offered fantastic snorkeling where we saw turtles, whales, & eels!
