Entry level
The entry floor is where you’ll discover the jewel of the home—the master suite. This large bedroom offers a king size bed, private balcony to enjoy your morning coffee with amazing views of the lake. The master bath has separate large tub and walk in shower and is fit for a king. The suite also has a 50 inch Roku TV.
The suite also contains a huge granite desk and library for the executive in your family. There is a Calldigit USB-C docking station that is connected to dual 32 inch 4K curved screen monitors, a Logitech MX Keys keyboard and mouse. There is also a wireless printer available for use.
Take your luxury vacation experience to the next level with the spacious chef’s kitchen with professional grade appliances, or cook a feast on the outdoor gas grill or the Traeger wood burning pellet smoker.
Upstairs Suite
Upstairs, you will find a separate suite with its own outside entrance. This area has a queen bed and 2 single beds. It has its own bathroom with a tub/shower combination. There is also a small kitchen area and a family room / play room. The family play room has (2) couches, one of which is a leather sleeper sofa with a comfortable queen mattress. The loft area features a piano and an area that would be perfect for a small dance floor.
Lower Floor
The lower floor is where you will find the spa area. This area has a dry sauna, 2 separate showers and changing areas and a toilet.
There are also 2 additional bedrooms, 1 with a king bed and a 43 inch Roku TV and 1 with a queen bed and a 50 inch Roku TV. Each bedroom has its own sink and mirror where the ladies get dressed.
There is also another small room with a single bed and a sink that is ideal for one of the little ones in the group.
There is a multi-purpose room that near the the washer/dryer in the basement which has has a low profile murphy bed with a queen mattress. The mattress is 8 inch memory foam.
Luxurious Comfort
Vacations are not nearly as much fun if you do not sleep well. The beds are outfitted with high quality mattresses and a pillow menu is provided in hopes that every guest can the pillow that is most suited for them.
There are also 2 weighted blankets for those guests that appreciate the calm and secure feeling that the added weight can provide during sleep. These are stored in the master closet.
You will enjoy radiant heat – yes, that is correct – every floor in this house is heated and each room has its own thermostat. There are 2 fireplaces – 1 in the office (gas) and 1 in the living area (wood burning). There is an elevator to bring the wood up to the fireplace so you do not have to carry it into the house. Central AC is also provided throughout the house.
Laundry
We all know that traveling with a big group can be a little bit overwhelming in terms of luggage, however, by staying at this amazing home you can stop worrying about it and pack light, as you’ll have two laundry rooms available to wash your clothes. One is on the entry floor and one is on the lower floor.
Hospitality
The caretaker / property manager lives in a studio at the back side of the property. This provides our special guests with as much, or as little interaction as they want. If you want to understand how something works, need to get something fixed, or just talk about the area, the husband and wife team will be happy to assist. If you want privacy and no interaction, you will get that as well.
Toys and Experiences
Message us to ask about a 3D virtual tour or the 5* experiences with Captain Tim. Ever wanted to learn how to wakesurf in a clear pristine mountain lake? Captain Tim can take you on boating tours or surfing on his Super Nautique surf boat. Or take the side by side to Big Creek Trail which is just a few short miles from the house. The house is just south of the best fishing spots on Lake Hayden. Hayden Powersports has partnered with Chateau Lac Hayden to provide preferred access to a Barletta L25U Pontoon boat and a Polaris side by side. are available for rent. These boats and toys stay full time at the chateau, but one of the boats can removed from the dock if guest is bringing their own toys and makes the request at least 7 days in advance.

While the chateau has all the amenities to cook a fabulous meal inside or outside, why spend your valuable vacation time cooking? Why not hire a private chef? Ask us about this service.
Pets will be considered and are welcome with prior approval. Additional fees will apply. When you reach out for approval, we will want to know the breed. Having reviews of prior stays with this same animal or animals at a VRBO or other short term rental accommodations will be helpful. Additional fees will apply.
You may know that power reliability in Northern Idaho is not as good as other parts of the country. BUT we have you covered. There are (2) 1000 gallon propane tanks on property and a generator that will power the whole house.
There is a new generation Tesla charging station available for our guests.
We have found that the guests who have the best experience at the chateau are the ones that have taken the time to read the complete listing. Handicap accessible
My mother-in-law uses a wheelchair and frequents the Chateau. She can not do stairs but can get by with a walker most of the time. She can use a wheel chair to get to the front door where there is a single step to get in which is not a problem for her. She uses the walker while in the house. The main floor of the house is wheel chair accessible. This includes most of the common areas - kitchen, dining room, living room, master suite, 3 bathrooms, library / office. She sleeps in the master bedroom with my wife (needs 24 hour care). The upstairs of the house, the basement of the house, lake, dock etc. are not accessible.
