”Hidden small gem in a rustic setting. We stayed in one of the "hotel" like rooms as we were trying to be budget friendly. We were very impressed with the easy check-in, friendly and helpful staff, and updated room. We had a wonderful breakfast in the morning at their on-site restaurant and our server was friendly and provided some very helpful tips for our day's itinerary. Hope we make it back to this area so we can stay there again.”

”Wonderful small motel with cute, though small, cabins. So much more character than other places. Inn keeper was super friendly making sure w has what we needed. Would stay there again if I’m in Custer again.”

”The location- easy access to everything I needed; the wedding venue etc. my room was very nice- super clean. I had a queen suite and it felt like home. Just loved it! The staff were so friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend this place!”

”We traveled to this location during the night and it was incredibly hard to see the road signs leading to it. Most of the roads were dirt and some of them were washed out from rain. It is best to get here during daylight.”

”This is a new hotel about 10 minutes from downtown Rapid City. Free parking and highway access are definite pluses. It is spacious and modern. It may lack the charm of the Alex Johnson hotel, but it more than makes up for it with convenience. The pool is very small but it does have a nice hot tub. The free breakfast buffet menu changes daily.”

”Room was clean and beds were comfortable. Great price and good location for going riding utv’s on the trails. Have the best parking for pickup and trailer.”

”The front staff was super nice. The location is great. My only real "complaint" is that the hotel is very dated. I know that isn't really anyones fault and doesn't reflect on the current staff. It just could really use a remodel.”

”Only two lights in the whole room, didn’t have one on my side of bed. Very few plug ins. No mirror except in bathroom. Refrigerator froze everything. At breakfast the juice machine was broken & nothing done to replace that (i.e jug of juice) Waffle batter machine broken. Had to pour batter out of jug. Area not clean. This was rated as good? Not impressed.”

”This property would be great for someone visiting the area. It is centrally located, and has a pretty functional kitchenette. The bed was very comfortable with good pillows. Unfortunately, we were just passing through as part of a very long trip that included arriving late and leaving early. They're not really set up for that with the office closed 7pm to 7am. The cabin worked well for us and our 2 dogs, but the fee was a bit high.”

”Room was clean, staff was exceptionally helpful, breakfast was good (menu rotates daily which is nice for those staying multiple days). Wonderful national parks very close by. The only issue was that the door to our room (walk directly outside to parking lot), did not line up with the frame and we could see daylight under the door. We laid a towel down along the bottom of the door at night to help keep bugs out.”

”This is an ideal location to visit Custer State Park, and it is not too far away from Mt Rushmore. This hotel is a great value and even has a continental breakfast. It was clean and comfortable.”
