The Roost at The Southerner

Adorable pet-friendly cottage within walking distance to downtown Saugatuck and all it has to offer. Main room offers a gas fireplace, TV and full kitchen with a pull-out loveseat and space to dine. Queen bed in bedroom, ensuite bath with shower and laundry room. A/C, ceiling fans & shady location. Private parking and outdoor garden area. Perfect stay for a couple + 1. Be sure to take advantage of the popular restaurant The Southerner right next door. The restaurant can be quite busy in the summer so there's fantastic people watching from your private patio but it ends service at 10pm so no late night noise or commotion.

Such a happy place! We’ve been visiting Saugatuck for years and love it here. We had such a wonderful stay at the Roost last month we just had to come back for a last-minute, end of summer short stay (Thanks Amy!). We’ve stayed at other pup friendly places but none have been as perfect. The outside is cute, well landscaped with comfortable sitting areas for morning coffee and glowing string lights welcoming us back after an evening in town.The interior is smartly designed, nicely furnished, with essentials stocked. We appreciate the washer/dryer convenience and so important… the cottage is always well cleaned and maintained. We’re glad to share we have found our go-to home away from home here in Saugatuck, at the Roost. Looking forward to many good times ahead!

The most perfect Saugatuck stay!

As frequent travelers and having been to Saugatuck several times, not only was this our favorite Saugatuck stay yet, but one of our absolute favorite vacation rentals overall! The house was immaculate, so cozy, quiet and comfortable. The proximity to everything was wonderful-- walkable to everything downtown, yet removed enough from all of the crowds and hustle and bustle. Amy was a wonderful, communicative host and the house had everything we could possibly need and more! We cannot wait to come back and stay again-- it will be our go-to Saugatuck rental from now on!

Perfect cottage in Saugatuck

We had the best time at The Roost. Its a cute little cottage but packed with everything you could possibly want or need. Its even cuter in person with great artwork and cute little touches everywhere. Walking distance to town and a stone's throw from a fantastic restaurant. If you're planning a trip to Saugatuck, BOOK THIS PLACE! You wont be disappointed!

5 Stars – A Perfect Cottage Getaway in Saugatuck!We absolutely loved our stay at this adorable cottage in Saugatuck! The space was stylish, thoughtfully updated, and full of charm—from the beautiful artwork to the cozy, inviting feel of the home. The location couldn’t have been better—just a short walk to both downtown Saugatuck and Douglas, and right next to The Southerner (we ate there twice and loved it!).When we arrived, there was a small snafu with check-in, but the owner responded immediately and went above and beyond to make things right. Their communication was fast, helpful, and incredibly kind throughout our stay.This sweet cottage became the perfect home base for our sister vacation—we spent our days shopping, exploring the area, and relaxing at the beach, and loved coming back to such a comfortable, well-kept place each evening. We also appreciated the owner’s attention to sustainability and the thoughtful touches throughout the home.Highly recommend this gem! A wonderful stay all around—thank you for helping make our getaway so memorable!

Perfect Getaway

This was the perfect cozy cottage for 2. Very clean and plenty of room for 2 to fit comfortably. I was worried at first seeing the restaurant right next door but I didn’t hear a peep the entire time. Great spot right off of all the buzz of downtown but still walking distance.

A perfect stay for a weekend in Michigan!

The cottage was so nice and well kept. Seems like it was recently renovated - the pictures don’t do it justice! Perfect size for a weekend getaway for a wedding in saugatuck. The host was wonderful and super easy to work with. It was lovely being able to bring our dog. Will be back!

Such a cute cozy cottage. Everything is tastefully updated and even has a hidden dishwasher. It was super clean and well-stocked. The patio is a lovely place to read and relax. The location is convenient to town with The Southerner just steps away.
