First time at a capsule hotel and it was a cool experience. I got my own pod in the same gender section and it was quite majority of the time except when ppl were packing (which is understandable for travelers.) The pod can be locked from the inside but otherwise it could be accessible to anyone. You do get a key to a lockable drawer but limited space and getting things in and out the pod when you need it can become annoying. Sometimes the open storage shelf near your pod might be occupied too and that just leaves you putting your stuff a bit further or in the locker rooms (which imo was too far for a short term stay.)
There is a TV screen inside the pod (bluetooth headphones required for quite environment) but gotta login to your own streaming services.
New fresh towels provided each day. Shared bathroom with showers (separated) in one room and toilets in the other. Bonus: the toilets have the fancy japanese bidets.
Lounge/kitchen was public space to eat and relax. Shared fridge, just write your name and date. Tea provided and coffee restocked/brewed in the morning. You're supposed to only eat in the lounge. I felt that at busier times, the trash should have gotten taken out more often or that the space should have been cleaned a bit.
After midnight, access to the capsule hotel needs staff attention to buzz you in instead of just your code.
The location is prime for visiting and tourism as it is in the heart of Waikiki.
Staff was very friendly and helpful!1
