  • Spacious Hawaiian Monarch studio with Ala Wai views located at the beginning of Waikiki. This unit features ac, smart tv, wifi and cable a short walk from Fort DeRussy Beach Park, Hilton Hawaiian Village, Ala Wai Canal and more. The Hawaiian Monarch is a secured building that includes a spacious sun deck with grilling area, pool, and hot tub steps away from Waikiki’s shopping, restaurants, nightlife and activities. Take a short stroll to Ala Moana Beach Park, Ala Moana Center, and Hawaiian Convention Center.

    This partially remodeled studio offers city views and sleeps 2. This unit is located on the 19th floor. Elevators are available.

    KITCHEN/DINING
    This home includes a kitchenette with a hot plate (portable stove), microwave, coffee pot, mini fridge/freezer, dishes, cups, cutlery and basic cookware.

    LIVING/SLEEPING AREA
    This unit includes a queen size bed (sleeps 2 guests), dining area for 2 guests, smart tv, and ac.

    BED/BATH
    This unit includes a queen size bed (sleeps 2 guests) and full bath with tub/shower.

    The Hawaiian Monarch building offers upgraded amenities such as a giant Sundeck, pool and hot tub, paid fitness center (one-time nominal fee), paid luggage storage (one-time nominal fee), paid laundry (nominal fee). The building lobby levels also have a locally-owned coffee shop, car rental, King’s (bar), convenience store and restaurant (Burger & Sushi). Building has 24/7 security, elevators and attached, secured garage.

    PARKING
    This home does NOT come with parking. Paid parking is offered based on availability by the attached garage for a daily fee of approximately $40/day. Please note that the parking is not owned by or offered by us. It is ran by a separate company with no affiliation with this rental, and prices and availability are subject to change at any time.

    The Hawaiian Monarch offers easy access to Honolulu’s diverse offerings. Take a short walk to the restaurant-filled Hilton Hawaiian Village or the adjacent protected bay for swimming, picnic-ing and paddle boarding. Explore nearby Fort DeRussy Beach Park, soft-sanded beaches, famous restaurants, surf lessons, paddle board rentals, and shopping. This place is perfect for budget minded travlers. Everything you need in and around the hotel for a mid to long term stay. Host was fast in responding to concerns. Easy bus stop access to Downtown, Ala Moana and walking distance to McCully and Central Waikiki. Keep in mind, this is not a 5 star Waikiki resort. I give it high praises for what I intended it to be.

Delightful

I thought this room was delightful, with both decor and value, in an older hotel, given the extreme prices for the Waikiki area. It was supplied with essential kitchen items for preparing meals.

Do not stay here, spend the extra money and get a better room. Black mold in the shower, lights that don't work a sink you can barely use and a unusable microwave. Chipped paint stains on the walls and curtains and a air-conditioner filter so caked with dust it wouldn't blow cold air.

Had trouble plugging microwave into an outlet.Refrigerator was jammed into wall and baseboard so was very difficult to open and close doors.Numerous light bulbs blinking and need replacement.Was no live TV of normal cable or local broadcast channels.Was difficult using shower controller needs replacement.Bed, view, and other accessories in room were fine.Overall ok but many would not give this above a 1 star.

I had stayed at this property before with no significant issues. However during this most recent there was a plumbing issue that left the toilet unusable. Simply reaching a live agent on the phone required multiple prompts from an AI agent, we then found out that there were no maintenance teams on site so one had to be brought in but they couldn't say when. The staff in the office tried their hardest I believe but the property manager was completely unreachable and unable to provide us with any back up accommodations or even an estimate on when the issue would be resolved. It was an extremely confused situation. Basically we were left without a working toilet for almost 2 days and not given an alternative option till the night before we left.

Room reeked of urine when we first arrived. Maintenance was helpful but had to wait a long time to receive a response from the property owner. Was allowed a refund on the room but was not allowed a refund for the parking.

The room needs maintained better and ultimately updated and remod

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I had problems getting the remote to work for the TV. The bed is smaller than it looks in the picture. The faucet is so loose it moves whej you turn the water on and off. the bathtub was a bit dirty and looked to me that it had some mold around the tub meeting the wall area. There were no glasses for drinks, only a coffeee cup and 3 soup cups. My friends got a room in the same building for the same price and their room was remodeled, had a kitchen, a queen bed, and fully stocked kitchen utensils. I would stay in the room they had, not this room.
