”Actually, it was a nice small room for two people. It was clean. Our problem was the weather. It rained so hard and there was a lot of wind. The electricity went out so we had to leave and go to another establishment. But then the right conditions I think it would be a nice place for a couple or one person just to get away into nature. It was very easy to get my refund due to the weather. The contact person was very efficient and removedall of our concerns.”

”The web site said smoking rooms, this is untrue. I was fine with that, but my room smelled like a smoking room. There where cobwebs on the lamps and the tables where dirty. The shower was dirty and had a whole in the ceiling. The outside was very dirty. I would never stay at this hotel aging. I would tell everyone to stay far away from it as they can.”

”This was an amazing property. We our stay here with our doodles while hiking and exploring Shawnee Forest. Private, comfortable and unique! ”

”This place was wonderful! It was better than advertised. The room had everything you need for your stay, Sherry the host obviously put a lot of thought into it. Sherry was great to work with and the Horseshoe bar and grill had excellent pizza. The view of the lake is beautiful, especially when the sun comes up. We would definitely recommend this cottage and will hopefully stay there again. ”

”Very friendly hosts. Met them and they were a pleasure to interact with. They had one of the most complete array of amenities that we have ever encountered in our trips! We did have some issues with losing TV service on our last night, but I imagine that it was not their fault.All in all a pleasant experience.”

”Property is super cute. Check in was easy. Host communicated very quickly. Had everything you would need to stay for an extended period of time. Delicious zucchini bread provided for breakfast. Easy to find. Would definitely stay here again if we are ever back in Southern Illinois.”

”Does NOT have smoking rooms. You can book one but they don’t have ANY for several months now. My room was recently renovated so it was fairly clean but no chair or ice bucket but the ice machine was out of order. Breakfast is a granola bar and coffee or an apple.”
