”Very run down, even with the “renovations” outside is pretty, but inside needs a lot of work. Not fully cleaned rooms or bathroom. Much dirt, debris & insects being in the ventilation of the heating/AC unit that was blowing throughout the room. Multiple plugs that did not work. While neighboring plumbing sounded like it was going to burst through the wall. The king sized bed was harder than a rock, along with the the make shift frame the bed was hanging off of, was louder than a Peterbuilt Jake...

”Unfortunately, this property needs a thorough cleaning. The rooms were filthy, sheets were stained and carpets were disguising. Stains on fridge….Showerheads were filled with calcium; tub was badly stained. Door frame at side entry was literally falling apart.”

Also, there was no room service for my 3 nights and there were only 2 bath towels in the room. There was plenty of parking and is in a good location.”

Since the well had just been replaced and was awaiting testing, we were asked to not drink the tap water. They supplied us with water bottles to compensate. The staff was very friendly and helpful. ”Got their after hours and was surprised that they had made arrangements to get my room. It was simple and very convenient. Some what secluded and quiet... if you gonna get their after 9pmyou may want to get food or gas before you arrive as I didn't see anything around. They do have a restaurant on premise but they were close when we got their and we left very early.”

”It was -12 on Portage Lake and we cranked the heat pump up to 75. The Birds Nest cabin needs another heat source. Upstairs was cold when we got back at 10:30 pm after leaving the heat on all day in the cabin.The two full size beds that are pictured is one that’s on the bottom of a metal bunk bed frame and the other is upstairs where the roof is pitched so one side has no head room to accommodate two grown adults.New owners shut the water off for the winter. Didn’t know that until the day we left...
