”We arrived later in the evening than we had hoped. It was dark so we could not fully appreciate the beauty around us until morning. The camper was cozy and immaculate: Everything we could possibly need. Temps had dipped and they had it nice and warm for us. This was our first time EVER staying in a camper. Pleasantly impressed. We will definitely stay here again. ”

Mountain top views that allow you to see the Milky Way on a clear night with no noise from neighbors. This is a brand new, completely renovated property, very clean and the owner is extremely friendly and very easy to communicate with! ”

”Rose Cottage was perfect and a delightful place to stay with dogs. The house had everything we needed and was so organized and welcoming that we were quick to feel at home. Jessie was so kind when we met. The fire pit and axe throwing down by the creek was so refreshing and the dogs were wild about running about in the huge fenced in section of the yard. We also enjoyed the deck. We're eager to come back when visiting our family and hometown again soon. ”

”It was close to McAfee Knob, Tinker Cliffs & Dragon's Head trailheads. Loved the charm of the updated 1940's cottage (all modern conveniences). Easy scenic drives in all directions. Great coffee & food: Sycamore Station, Salem & Lemon & Vale Cakery, New Castle. See covered bridges near Newport & Dismal Falls. Easy scenic drive to Beartown Park, West Virginia, with awesome boardwalk thru stunning rock formations. ”

”We are so happy that we picked the farmhouse as our home base for our daughter's graduation from Virginia Tech this past May. Aunts and grandparents were extremely comfortable with their own rooms and en suites. Everyone had a place to relax between activities and didn't even have to leave the house for morning coffee. We had family meals each night and anything we needed was right there in the kitchen. We had a private chef cook for us one night and she was also impressed with the kitchen! ...

”We stayed at the home while getting our son settled in as a freshman at Virginia Tech and also spent some time enjoying the area. It's an older building in a rustic setting, but the home has been updated and we found it to be clean and comfortable. The nearby creek is lovely. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.”

”My group consisted of 2 married couples and 1 single guy. A motorcycle event out of Gearhead Junction in Pembroke brought us to Newport. The cottage was perfect for our group. Plenty of space for privacy as well as gathering to socialize. On Saturday I had planned to visit a few local shops but instead stayed on the farm and enjoyed the peace and serenity. Our dogs loved the fenced in yard and fenced/escape proof front porch. Thank you for sharing your lovely mountain cottage.”

”We chose this place because online it looked unique, clean, on large property with creek frontage, It surpassed our expectations. The house has so many extra touches, including fresh cut flowers from the garden in a vase upon our arrival. Craigs Creek is larger than I expected. I have lived places that this would be called a small river and it is lovely. The property provided canoes and kayaks with paddles and life jackets. We checked in on Friday and Checked out on Sunday. I booked on a whim I didn’t expect much but when we got there it was beautiful, we were then greeted by the two most friendly cats I ever seen along with all the other well maintained animals. The little black bear camper was the best sleep me and my husband had ever had in our lives, the phones were off but that was perfect because we didn’t want any distractions. My 13 year old daughter at first was your typical teen who loves the internet but...

”Scenic view of verdant hills with cattle grazing. This is a homestead farm with goats, donkey and peacocks. At night when the sky is clear, you can see the bright stars in the hemisphere. It’s a country experience with a flair of Tyrol Austria.”

”We had such a fantastic time at this property. Everyone we encountered was extremely friendly (animals included), the land is gorgeous and well maintained, and the spaces were very clean especially considering that this is a farm tucked into the woods. Super easy drive from the state fair grounds. We cannot recommend this enough! ”

”My husband, myself,and our daughter have stayed here for a few years now on our anniversary. This is the perfect getaway for us. Very peaceful and the owners are wonderful. ”Wonderful, great folks to work with, animals add to the whole experience. Close to hiking we wanted to do. Christine's food at the Cafe was great, Best French Fries ever!!. Chees burger was very tasty as well. Unbelievable weather and anyone we met at local businesses or hiking were nice and very friendly.”

”Beautiful scenery and peace of mind lots of wildlife, relaxing environment away from everyday hustle and bustle. We stayed three nights and didn't want to leave. We hope to be able to go back again every year a very special place. ”

”We came out to visit family over Farmer’s Day weekend, and to celebrate a church 120th anniversary. This home was perfect! Plenty of space for everyone to spread out and relax, and the location made it easy to get into and out of Union!”

”This place is very relaxing. It is completely void of the usual traffic sounds and people from the houses around me. If you want a secluded trip, this is the trip for you. We saw deer everyday, multiple times a day while we were there. We were lucky enough to even see a bear. The creek was my favorite part. I definitely recommend!”
