”Appreciate the clean property and room. Room was comfortable and everything was working well. Breakfast was pretty good - we stayed at the Drury Plaza in Franklin TN and the food was far superior for some reason but the Mt Vernon one was good. Thanks!”

”Hotel was fine but is definitely older. Bathroom looked remodeled in the last few years but the rest of the room seemed old with a musty old smell. Probably won’t stay there in the future.”

”Our room, including the bed, the bathroom and sheets and towels. Everything was clean. The breakfast area was clean the guy at the desk and the guy at the breakfast were super polite. And helpful. At that price point for a night, that’s all I could expect so they nailed it.”

”My family and I have stayed here many times on the way back from an annual summer trip to Iowa. Always clean, area seems safe and lots of dining options local. Staff is always kind and helpful. We will be staying here again next year, an easy "Yes" from us.”

”The reception desk person was very nice and made sure I was able to access the room okay. I was happy that this property was pet friendly. At first glance the room looked good, but when I laid down and looked at the ceiling, I noticed a bunch of red stains above the bed. The area of town the property is in is rundown and a little sketchy and once I got in the room, I locked the door and didn't leave until I checked out in the morning.”

”The hotel (Mount Vernon Hotel and Event Center - no longer exists under this name) has changed management and did not allow us to stay. They said they could see our reservation and were willing to cancel it, but it was booked under a previous management and they did not allow any pets, so we could not stay with our dog. They said they credited out account, but I am still being charged the full amount by Expedia and it is, so far, very difficult to contact Expedia for a credit. We ended up...

”This property owner is non communicative with both guests and VRBO. They will eventually, at the last minute when prompted by vrbo, send check in instructions and say they expect a 5 star review. We would not feel safe traveling to this property (especially with children) without solid communication. All onus is placed on guests no matter the circumstances. This property owner knows that and works in those parameters. Cannot in good faith recommend this property or host.”
