Hae hotelleja – Kamikawan piiri

”Quite outdated but still clean and nice hotel with Japanese rooms. Only smoking rooms which for western standards is really strange and personally I didn't like but could get by it though.”

”We liked everything! Friendly staff, good kitchen and eating areas and a nice onsen. Would've been nice to stay for one more night.”

”The shower water is very weak and not hot enough, facilities are very old. Dinner quality is bad, not many choices and too crowded.”

”Floor bedding low cushion seats were difficult to use with bad knees but everything was clean and provided for all our needs. Takes getting used to even ordering meals the day before wirjs in a tiny town with few restaurants with limited hours”

”Exellent dinner buffet! Free shuttles (reserved) from Asahikawa and to Biei were very convenient. 3 mins walk to the famous Shirogane Bridge for great views. We didn't go to the Blue Pond due to transport logistics and lots of flying insects. Free water bottles and japanese sweets in room. Rooms were nice and clean. The only problem was our 2 rooms didn't have airconditioning, or rather, the central airconditioning is not effective at all. It was too hot to sleep for our 1 night stay in August...

”We are a family of four and stayed here for one night. The staff spoke limited English, but they were incredibly friendly and welcoming. We were able to communicate without any problems. This is an older, traditional Japanese hotel. It’s not luxurious, but that’s exactly the kind of authentic experience we were looking for. Guests can enjoy complimentary snacks and drinks, including beer, in the lounge, which was a wonderful touch. My husband and I are heavily tattooed, and we were welcomed...
