”We took a chance to go to southern illinois because we never went to Shawnee forest. It was a lovely stay. The ybit was wonderful and set on a cliff above the Ohio river. Kitchen and bathroom were great. Great water pressure in shower. Back dwck was great to sit and relax at in the night time. Nice fire put out back. Was more a wonderful place to stay than doing acticities on site. We left to find adventured and activities nearby. It is set perfectly for short drives to the forest or...

”This property is really unique and fun. The indoor space is compact but very cleverly designed and comfortable, and the outdoor space including the deck, fire pit, hot tub and lake shore are all top-notch. We only stayed one night and I wish our trip had allowed us more time to enjoy this spot.”

”We had such an awesome stay at the Shawnee Apple Shack. It was so cute, clean, and had everything that we needed! There was plenty to do in the Southern Illinois area for the weekend. We definitely recommend staying there and would love to come back sometime!”

”We specifically were looking for a place with a kitchen so we could cook. This has a kitchen, but it was almost non-functional. No knives, no hot mitts, no cutting board, nothing to bake with. We improvised,but then the oven got stuck on 500 degrees/broil and wouldn't turn off. No one was on site that evening, and it took about 2 hours until our messages and phone calls were noticed.
