”nice and quiet place surrendered by a nice garden..... the staff is nice and professional and the place is gorgeous.”

”Excellent hosts and the fishing wasn't bad either!”

”We had an awesome stay but the heavy rains caused us to evacuate our villa as we got flooded, hotel staff was super awesome and we got upgraded to a hotel room.”

”Amazing little find. The reviews are true and this place really is spectacular. We were blown away with the size of the room which was a little villa with our own garden area. We travelled as a small family and just loved how accommodating this hotel was. I just wished I could have stayed longer!”

”Overall greatness!”

”Wer es besucht, sollte sich unbedingt für ein Picknick anmelden!”

”This place is beautiful and the villa would have been an amazing experience. After check in, we found out that the water in the bathrooms appeared brown-ish. We raised this issue twice with the hotel, and were told that the colour is due to the water coming from the municipal source. There was no filtering in place. The hotel provided drinking water bottles however it ruined the whole experience. We weren’t able to wash after a long day exploring and even properly brush our teeth. Needless to...

”We loved our boutique room with huge bathroom and veranda overlooking the lavendar and pool. The bathroom was quite large with a separate room for toilet and bidet, large 2 person soaker tub and shower room. The bedroom was also quite large and luxurious. The air smells like jasmine and there are nice views towards the mountains. Each unit has a secure parking stall and a remote for opening the gate. The hotel is walking distance to the restaurants and shops of Franschhoek. We dined at...

”Ashbourne House was such a great find on Franschhoek, it was close to restaurants. Our room was very spacious and clean. Parking was just off the street but seemed secure. Breakfast was delicious with good choices from the menu. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend the guest house, they had thought of everything to make your stay comfortable. We loved the selection of snacks, cake etc that was available to help yourself in the dining area. So good when you came back after a...

”This guest house felt like a home away from home. The fire was inviting and the staff were warm and fun to talk to about rugby and all things South African. Breakfast was delicious and the rooms were individual and comfortable.”

”Room was cozy, beautifully decorated. Child friendly. Lovely view of the garden. Staff were so friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was just phenomenal. Will definitely be back. Parking is in front of the building. very safe though. No Reception area. Please make sure to message the property when they contact you so you get further instructions. Very professional and warm welcome on arrival. Would definitely recommend for visitors travelling to Paarl.”

”Great stay! Friendly staff and relaxed self serving bar!”

”Beautiful guesthouse, great location. Staff were fantastic. Would recommend. ”

”The setting of the hotel is lovely with great views in every direction. The property is more homely than high quality and although the people serving were lovely, it lacked the quality and finesse that we have seen elsewhere in SA eg Lanzerac and Raddisson Cape Town. The service at dinner was warm and welcoming but the foot was ordinary. The rare steak I ordered was medium to well done. I’d suggest the property is due for a refurbishment as in places our room looked tired. Location 5 stars;...
