A roach crawled on me while I was sleeping!!! I woke up to the sensation of something moving on me, turned on the light, and saw a roach on the bed. I got dressed immediately and went to the front desk at 3 AM, half-asleep and shaken to report it.
The receptionist, Patrick, was completely unfazed. His reaction was so nonchalant it felt like this was something that “just happens all the time.” There was no urgency, no concern, no offer to inspect the room, no attempt to relocate me, and no reassurance that anything would be done. All he said was, “I’m sorry that happened, hope you have a nice night.”
I told him the roach was still in the room. He still refused to step out from behind the desk. He just looked at me. At that point I told him I couldn’t stay there and would find another hotel.
When I called Expedia to transfer my booking, they contacted the front desk. Patrick told them that yes, I complained about a roach but that I “just walked out,” and that after I left he supposedly checked the room and saw nothing, so no refund or credit transfer. That is a complete lie. He never offered to check the room when I was standing right in front of him asking him to. And I would love to know how long he actually spent “looking” for the roach afterward.
When I called back with Expedia on the line, he changed his story multiple times. There was zero accountability, zero honesty, and zero professionalism. I truly hope management reviews the cameras and listens to our interaction
