Disappointing property
Title: Misrepresented as Luxury – Very Disappointing StayAvantstay advertised this home on VRBO as a luxury rental, but it was anything but. The furniture was completely different from the listing photos—old, worn, and dirty. Despite being a 4,000 sq ft home, there was only one television. The house was full of broken or non-working items: the stovetop malfunctioned, many screens and sliding doors didn’t work, the washer and dryer were unreliable, the outdoor shower was inoperable, and the hot tub had several non-working jets. The Wi-Fi barely functioned, only working in one area of the house.The home was dirty upon arrival—the deck was unusable due to layers of grime. There was a tin pot filled with dirt and cigarette butts near the back door, and bags of trash were left outside. The interior was cluttered with random items, broken curtains, and damaged screens.When a team member from Avantstay came by, he was unaware of the issues and had to replenish basic kitchen supplies that were missing. It was clear the property was not well-maintained or managed.While we eventually accepted partial compensation, it did not reflect the level of disappointment we experienced. We’re sharing this so future guests are fully aware. There was nothing luxury about this stay. We are listing photos to show the difference in furniture that was posted on VRBO.
