Our time at the Greenwood house was outstanding! The backyard is beautiful, especially the wonderful pool! We also loved sitting on the porch in the evening. Very relaxing. The house itself is very roomy and comfortable and the primary bathroom shower and tub were fantastic. Also, my granddaughter (and us!) loved the game room. Overall, an excellent place to stay and I will again next time we are in the Indianapolis area. Ps - very responsive and friendly hosts, as well!

We had a wonderful time, in part because it was such a nice place to stay. We were especially thrilled with the huge yard. It was the wrong time of year for the pool. We watched the eclipse from the back deck, one of several. I'd be happy to stay there again

Nice older home with plenty of space. We cooked most of our own food. The tvs were good, and the giant playroom was comfy and fun. The pool was great, and all of us spent a ton of time in the pool! I never left the premises the entire time.

Spacious home for big group

We had a large group attending the Eucharistic Congress at Lucas Oil Stadium. This house was not only a great size for a group, but was also very convenient for an easy drive in and out of the city. The kitchen was convenient and big enough for a large group to cook together, the front porch was a peaceful place to pray in the morning, and the pool was phenomenal! Pat was a great communicator before and during our stay.

Rented this home for the week of our daughter’s wedding because it was close to the venue. For a home to have so very much potential, it is sadly not cared for as it should be. Parts of the home is somewhat remodeled but there are extreme improvements that are desperately needed. The amount of trip hazards throughout is astounding that someone hasn’t been severely injured. The flooring throughout needs redone and leveled. The back deck that leads to the pool is rotting, deck boards and steps are uneven posing an immediate danger for tripping, the whole deck needs replaced. The pictures must be old because one out of the two umbrellas are ripped and dry rotted, unusable. There is no fire pit nor wood as described. Inside the home is filthy, baseboards, walls and floors were embarrassing, could not walk around the home with bare feet without feet turning black from dirt! My husband and son in law almost fell down the stairs because of one the tread covers on the stairs popped off as they stepped! Light switches need labeled, electric layout is confusing. The “four headed” master shower only has three that work due to a missing diverter handle. We have no clue if the pool lights work or not, we couldn’t find a switch. One stated restriction is to not smoke on the porch/decks which we respected yet the porch/decks and entire outside of the home needs to be pressure washed. Outdoor furniture needs cushions and the indoor furniture needs to be cleaned.

Friends meet up!

Indianapolis was a middle ground for group of friends living in different states. Our draw was bringing the kids to the Children's Museum and wanted to stay somewhere we could hang out together that was kids friendly. A perk in our search if we could find out was a pool side we were traveling in the summer. We came across Greenwood Mansion and were lucky they had availability for the weekend we needed! The house had plenty of room for all 10 of us, the kids LOVED the upstairs game room, the pool area was a great addition to the weekend. Greenwood was just a short drive to downtown Indianapolis so getting to the Children's Museum was very easy. The hosts were easy to contact with any questions we had! If we ever meet up in the area again, we would definitely look into booking here again!

There was plenty of fun activities to do together. There are also great places to relax and chat. The pool is GREAT! The arcade game is AWESOME! Ping pong was AWESOME! Kitchen has everything you need. This is a great place to have a celebration or party. Things that need improving......You need to bring your own towels. Property needs newer, thicker, and bigger towels for pool and bathing. Get rid of ALL the carpet. Furniture looks great, but is very uncomfortable. Pressure wash the house. Fix back deck stairs and handrail to pool area. They are dangerous.

Good but not great

Pool needed a demarcation rope between shallow and deep end. Stairs from deck in disrepair. loud street noise on Thursday and Friday due to the proximity of the busy road. The property owners directly south used a diesel truck to enter and exit their property creating a lot of noise near the pool area. There was not a single place or piece of furniture for the adults to sit in. such as a large comfy chair or couch. Pool itself was very good. The porch was a good place to sit and relax but it needed a few extra pieces of furniture. The kitchen was large and welcoming.

Nice but missed the mark

We enjoyed staying at this house and there were some nice features, but we did have some issues and felt the description was a bit misleading. We had a hard time finding a place for everyone to sleep (6 adults, 1 teen, 1 toddler, 1 infant). We also had a hard time keeping the house cool even though temps only got up to the 80's and we kept windows and doors closed. All the bedrooms except master are upstairs and next to each other. It was too hot to sleep most nights. We tried cooking in the oven but it immediately billowed black smoke and we decided to just use the stovetop to cook. Otherwise it was a nice place. It was probably really nice 20 years ago, but some things have gone unattended to.
