”Hotel was absolutely beautiful. One issue: They put us in a room with no heat, Room 424. We had an handicap accessible room because we are both disabled. We called down to the front desk. The young lady was willing to move us across the hall at 421. She made sure the heat was working before she moved us, but it wasnt handicap accessible. ”

”This hotel is our favorite pet-friendly hotel in downtown Durham. During this last visit, I had inadvertently double booked myself a room directly with the hotel and on Expedia. The check-in host was so kind to cancel the room booked directly with the hotel without penalties. I certainly was not expecting that and figured I'd be paying for two rooms due to my oversight. Thank you 21c hotel. That made my day, and I will certainly return. ”

”BEWARE! This cottage is in a very sketchy neighborhood. We arrived at dusk to see multiple groups of men standing nearby, watching us enter the property. The neighboring properties are disorganized and lacking attention that one would expect when renting an air B and B. There are adjoining houses with living room sofas on the porch, bags of garbage against the house, a mattress on the front lawn, foliage grown over the house, and yards with many vehicles parked (abandoned) on them. ”I would not recommend this place unless you are on a really tight budget. The only nice thing about it was the kind person who checked us in. The room was dingy and smelled faintly of smoke. The smoke alarm was chirping and I had to borrow tools to disconnect it so we could sleep. There was constant noise throughout the night from other guests, and the whole place smelled like weed.”

”The relationship between price and quality was not the best. The hotel is not a three star rating but deserves only two star rating. However, judging by the guests, the hotel was quite popular among locals. Breakfast was every morning the same and it differed considerably from a European breakfast. It included bagel, roll, bun, wafer, yoghurt, apple/orange, cerials, minced beef, fried egg, coffee and juice. Overall the hotel was shabby and the cleaning level was not very good.
