”Excellent place to stay.Good location for exploring the area. Local walks Hadrians wall etc.We stayed in the Hadrian suite.Very spacious with nice roll top bath.We ate in the bar on burger night. Again Excellent.Staff were friendly especially the breakfast lady.Full of smiles in the morning. Would definitely stay again ”

”Brilliant pub and place to stay! Staff were lovely and very welcoming. Food was amazing, I had the chicken burger and a very good fry up in the morning. I would highly recommend. ”

”Staff are always friendly and helpful. They remembered me from a previous visit.
Rooms are clean, well presented and accessible (lift).
Hotel is right outside the station, and a short distance from the centre of town.
Breakfast offers continental or full English (best bacon ever).
Loved playing solitaire in the bar - small selection of games/packs of cards available.
Lovely place to stay. Highly recommended.”

”I was a completely unplanned visitor who trekked the moors at night to reach the Inn. Though the only thing that happened on the moors was fulfilling an American's silly Holmesian fantasy of walking the moors at night, everyone was concerned for my safety and I really appreciated that.
My stay was wonderful, the food was really delicious, and everyone with whom I spoke was just up-front and pleasant.
I will be back some day and guess where I'll stay?”
