During my stay, I did not feel very welcomed by the front desk staff. When I arrived to check in, the front desk associate was not very friendly. I handed her my card directly, but she returned it by placing it on the counter instead of handing it back to me. Small gestures like that can say a lot about customer service.
While waiting for my check-in to be completed, I noticed her interactions with other guests were much warmer and more engaging. She was asking other guests if their rooms were okay and speaking to them in a very friendly manner. When I came down from my room later, I did not receive the same level of acknowledgment or enthusiasm.
I will say that one staff member—a woman I encountered near the elevator—was very pleasant and kind. Unfortunately, the night front desk associate was also not very welcoming.
Overall, the experience left me feeling uncomfortable and as though certain guests were treated more favorably than others. Because of that, I would likely choose another property for future stays. Caucasian people were treated better.
