LUXURY HOME—NOT! A Disappointing Stay Any Vrbo host's top priority should be making guests feel welcomed and expected. Unfortunately, that was not our experience.Despite being labeled a “luxury home,” this property lacked the basics of hospitality and upkeep, which is common across well-managed properties.We arrived to an overgrown lawn and goose droppings on the driveway. Check-in instructions and the access code were only provided after I reached out the day before our arrival.Inside, there were no directions or guidance. We had to hunt for toilet paper, and there was no soap provided. One bathroom featured a large tub, but it was unusable due to a pipe awkwardly filled with cement putty. The other tub lacked a stopper entirely. Cleaning products were oddly stashed behind the toilet, rather than in a designated space.Maintenance issues were everywhere: a bifold door off its hinges and leaning in the closet, a missing toilet paper holder leaving a hole in the wall (with a replacement still boxed nearby), and a sofa bed with no sheets. The twin beds were low to the ground and looked uninviting, so we ended up bunking together.TVs were mounted with exposed wires, and the oversized couch in the living room was stained and ill-fitting for the space. There was no coffee table, so we had to relocate one from another room. Lighting throughout the house was dim and poorly placed.The carpeting was stained and appeared dirty.
