The three spacious bedrooms comfortably accommodate up to 8 people.

Bedroom 1 features a plush super king-sized bed with its own ensuite for added privacy.

while Bedroom 3 is ideal for kids or friends with a bunk bed and an additional pullout bed. Both share a family bathroom.

Heart Bay House is our cherished family home, so we kindly ask that you treat the space with respect.

Please note, some cupboards and the garage are locked and reserved for staff use only. The rest of the house is yours to enjoy, including the comfortable living areas and fully-equipped kitchen.

The gardens and fire pit are shared with guests from the other house on the compound, providing a welcoming space for all. Enjoy your stay, and feel free to make yourself at home!

Other notable aspects:

Your stay is self catering, we will provide a few basic essentials to welcome you but we recommend that you allow time to stop & shop in Jinja before you arrive.

We will supply 2 20 litre bottles of drinking water which can be exchanged for a refill in many of the supermarkets in Jinja.

WiFi is available, but please note it's limited to 5GB per day. If you need more, we can top it up at your cost.

It is advisable to come in your own car. Be aware that we are on 'village' dirt/murram roads so when it has rained things can be challenging, a 4 wheel drive is recommended, though not essential, during the rainy season.

Gate policy: Once you are checked in the gate will be locked from 12 midnight until 7am. This is for the safety of everyone on site & there will be no exceptions, no access will be granted to the site during these hours.

If you require transport to be arranged for you from the airport or elsewhere then please let us know.

If you need a taxi or a local boda boda during your stay we can provide contact details.

We don’t offer any accommodation or services for your drivers, cooks, nannies etc. They are more than welcome to stay as guests, if registered.

Please remember that our cottages & water supply are all solar powered so there is a limited amount of power available. For this reason, we kindly ask that you DO NOT BRING ANY of the following items, as they require more power than we can provide:

NO Hair dryers

NO Hair straighteners

NO Irons

NO Induction rings/hobs

NO Air fryers

NO Coffee machines

NO Microwave ovens

NO Portable electric ovens

Any other high wattage, power-hungry devices. Please be thoughtful & considerate with water & power use.

The toilets go to a septic tank so no nappies, sanitary towels, wet wipes etc, please dispose of these in the bin provided. Please be thoughtful about how much toilet paper you use otherwise blockages may occur.

There are 2 dogs on the site, please do not feed them or allow them into the house.

Our compound is fully fenced all the way round so there is no access to the river itself which means there is no need to worry about your kids falling into the river.

However, if you fancy a boat cruise, Chibby is a friendly local boatman who can pick you from our gate & walk you to his boat on the river just 2 plots over, from where you can either take a relaxing cruise on the river or he can drop you to the other side where you can go horse riding. Just ask Hope for his contact details.

Close by is Bujagali village, roughly a 15 minute walk or just a few minutes in a car, where you can find 3 restaurant/bars, several local food stalls and many adventure activities: rafting, kayaking, tubing, stand up paddle-boarding, boat cruises, quad biking and boat rides to attractions such as birding, fishing and horse riding.
