Place was convenient for dropping my daughter off at SUNY Binghamton. Was updated, very well laid out with all amenities, clean, organized, thoughtful. Had kitchen, living room, bedroom, bathroom all of a nice size for two people. Liked the auto soap dispenser. Easy parking. A bit woodsy if you are not into critters but otherwise quite fantastic for price and location.

Description: The unit is not a 'house'. It's an renovated building behind a house. Safety/Security: The stairs are an accident waiting to happen. Top tread is almost split through along the length and was repaired/remounted on an angle. Bottom tread is so far under the top that you have to step sideways to be stable. No handrails. No exterior lighting except for one small solar light by the stairs which doesn't stay charged. Parking: Ad says you can park on the street (a hill) or in the driveway, which has you weaving around a derelict van, overgrown tree, junk car seats, and a basketball hoop. Pulling in is a challenge; pulling out is putting your car insurance agent on speed dial. The walking path from the driveway to the unit's door winds back and forth and is overgrown with plants, and again NO LIGHTS. Bathroom: toilet is shoved in too small a space between the door frame and the sink. Floor under it is soft, so every time you sit down, the floor gives. Shower control doesn't work properly, comes off the baseplate. Shower diverter on the tub fill spout is hard to engage and the spout is loose in the wall. No hairdryer available. Bedroom: Nightstand but no electric outlets in the area of the bed, so no charging your phone and no lamp. TV: An Internet TV, apps only. An internet connection is available, but it is not strong or consistent, and certainly not strong enough to use the TV without it freezing every 10 seconds.

Good place to sleep

Just visiting for a night to go to a local brewery. Location was perfect. Bed was comfortable. Perfect for a place to sleep for just a night

Clean, cozy and convenient

A great one night stay close to the hospital in which I was working. It snowed overnight and my host finished shoveling the walk way as I was heading to work. I was happy from check in to check out. Thanks for a great stay!

4 nights in Johnson City

I need to be in Binghamton for work for a few nights and was just looking for some thing simple and affordable. This property offered that. You won’t find many properties more affordable for a nights stay. Everything was available and provided as advertised, and when my stay required communication with the property owners, they were responsive and very reasonable.

It was adequate but the property needs some TLC. Broken wooden step, lack of hot water, missing exposed light sockets in bathroom, just two towels, misc clutter on path to cottage, derelict vehicles blocking driveway. .

Convenient location was a real plus. This place worked out very well for me. I didn't realize,however, that I would need to provide towels, and had to run out and buy some. Other linens were provided.

Reasonable Value, Trying Hard

I really have mixed feelings about my stay. For just somewhere to crash at a low price, it was fine. In fact, I sense they did a lot to make a modified single-wide trailer house into a stayable place. There are newer fixtures and furniture, but things like wall paint and trim and such were done badly. It was a mix of nice touches and run-down details. I really liked the mini-counter with tall chairs in the kitchen, but weirdly, none of the kitchen cabinets or even the fridge had door handles. The bedding was neatly presented but uncomfortable (blanket, no bedsheet) with very stiff pillows. I ended up using the ones from the couch. Again, no big deal but it would have been nice. The one important thing everyone must know: THERE IS ALTERRNATE PARKING on the street. No signs, but according to odd and even numbers apparently. If I would have been told that, I would have avoided a cheap ($20) but still annoying ticket. Lastly, I couldn't see the keypad for the lock at night and had to use my phone flashlight, so be sure to be aware of that. I just feel this property would have been a dump if the host hadn't worked hard to get it to where it is, which really wasn't bad. For such a low price, I don't feel cheated, and I suspect it will improve for the next person. I wish the host and their future guests the best.
