”My family and I really liked "Our Neck of the Woods" cottage. We were returning home from a vacation in Michigan to St Louis and thought I'd be fun to go into Casey, IL to see all the world's biggest attractions before closing the book on vacation 2026. This property is quiet and welcoming. We had dinner at Richard's Farm Restaurant and it was excellent. We also saw a deer 10 yards from the cottage out back and a muskrat in the pdnd below along with other bird wildlife. Thank you for sharing...

”We had such an awesome stay at the Shawnee Apple Shack. It was so cute, clean, and had everything that we needed! There was plenty to do in the Southern Illinois area for the weekend. We definitely recommend staying there and would love to come back sometime!”

”A small converted barn that feels like what it says on the tin. A cozy cabin surrounded by trees. There was a lovely pond on the property and a loft above the kitchen. I loved the trees surrounding the property it offered a lot of privacy. Communication with the owner was fast and effective. The instant check in was great. The only problem was that I wasn't provided with the door code by Expedia, so I had to ask the owner before I could get in. He responded quickly and we had a wonderful time....

”Pros: quiet little cabin, tucked just inside from a street. Clean & cozy.
Cons
1. Mattress: It was too soft & saggy in the middle. Another reviewer mentioned this too. I wasn't able to get a restful night's sleep. Either my knees or neck would be sore in the mornings
2. Not enough brightness / lights: The interior feels dark - with an okay ceiling light, where 1-2 if the bulbs would slowly go dim as tine went on. Kitchen light was brigther.”
