First trip to Maui

We loved staying in this condo for our first trip to Maui. We stayed with our daughter and her family. The grandkids loved the pool. Having our own beach was wonderful-a beautiful sunset every night. We're ready to come back again.

My favorite place!

This is my new go-to place to stay for all of my Maui visits! The property is clean, quiet, great location, has its own secret beach and a warm pool. The condo was clean, a great layout and stayed nice and cool at night. Highly recommend!

Sunny Stay with Sunsets and Turtles

We had a lovely stay at Kahana Sunset. The unit comfortably fits three adults, in our case one couple and a friend. The bathrooms and bedrooms are separated by stairs and provide lots of privacy. The shower in the second (Queen bedroom) bathroom is due for an upgrade. We had all the cooking utensils we needed and cooked quite a few meals, though we did battle with keeping food from sticking to the pans. 😅 Also Hot tip: Grab containers or ziplocs if you’re planning on cooking a lot, we found it tough to store leftovers! We had some issues with bugs (mostly small flies) but our host was quick to respond and resolve. If it’s your first stay in Maui, FYI make sure to take your garbage out as often as needed to keep the critters at bay and put all produce in the cupboards! I would recommend a more thorough cleaning from the property managers. We found a tissue beside the dresser. Having two lanai’s was a major benefit and we spent lots of time outside. Loved having beach supplies (chairs and kids toys). The washer & dryer and AC were driving factors in our decision to rent here and we were not disappointed! So nice to be have. As for the grounds/property itself, you simply can’t beat having access to a private beach. We caught gorgeous sunsets from the sand, and saw lots of turtles. Some neat rocks for snorkelling too! Also a small beach area/bay (you could fit about 12 chairs comfortably on the sand) that would be safe for kids. It’s truly heartbreaking to see the closed units that back onto the water. There is a wondrous water filter by the pool (seriously - we used this every day). The BBQ’s were great but busy so best to plan a grill session early or later. Kahana Sunset is within eased walking distance to Napili Plaza where you can find a coffee shop, smoothie bowl joint, a restaurant and a grocery market.

Great place for families

Really good place for families. Lots to do at the resort. Sea turtles everywhere. Really good places to visit within 5 to 15 minutes drive as well. Grocery store and some shops is 15 minute walk. Highly recommend.

Kahana sunset C1

Unless you are leaning over the balcony, there is no ocean view. The unit desperately needs updating. The wifi is horrible. Be aware there is no cabinet space so if you plan on buying all your food when you arrive, there is nowhere to store it. There were some spices and kitchen necessities. The ice maker does not work, so buy plenty of ice. There is a water dispenser by the pool which was nice. The grounds are lovely and well kept. A little updating and modernizing would go a long way. Also, for the price charged for cleaning, the master bedroom carpet needs major cleaning or replacing.

A great place to stay on a great island!

Property (the resort) is lovely as always; and the grounds are kept up very well. The ocean continues to wear away at the A and F units, and it appears the resort is unable to get gov't permission to do what is necessary to address this continuing battle with nature, which we think is sad, since this is such a great place on NW Maui. This condo also was set up as advertised, though in need of some minor repair/maintenance. Nothing that really bothered us on our stay, however. The beds were comfortable, including the hide-a-bed, and the kitchen had all we needed. We would stay there again. (If the condo owner would like to discuss the minor issues, they can contact us directly).

Beautiful

Pretty property about 15-20 min north of Lahaina, Maui. A couple of restaurants, coffee shop and a small food store within walking distance. Parking in front of door (small spaces, but all parking slots on Maui are small) and more parking up the hill. Rental was clean, the beds were comfortable, check in and out was easy -- all done thru text/email with Maui Properties. Located in a quiet area, if your looking for more dining options, shopping or nightlight I'd stay closer to Lahaina.

It was a good location and clean and safe complex. The beach is very small and somewhat dirty and there is construction activity going on close by but overall it was a good experience

Great place

Enjoyed the resort very much. The place was clean and well kept and comfortable. Had a few issues and the owners were difficult to reach …sometimes several hours before a callback. Other than that good experience.

We love Kahana Sunset

I have been to Kahana Sunset several times. This was my first stay in C-1. It didn’t disappoint. We were a group of 6, 3 adults and 3 kids The grounds are beautiful, the sunset views stunning and the beach is a great place to spend the day. My son enjoyed fishing on the nearby point. The kids went from playing and snorkeling at beach to the pool while my daughter in law and I relaxed in the shade of the palm trees. I can’t wait to go back.

Mediocre stay

The location, beach and grounds were very nice. While we enjoyed our stay we were majorly disappointed and feel we were mislead, there is NO hot tub. The unit itself wasn't cleaned as thoroughly as we had expected, and smelled horribly like burnt bacon, which the management company did not respond to my email about.

Not Horrible But Not Amazing

Not the worst place I've ever stayed but definitely not the best. The double balconies was the best part but I couldn't enjoy them the last 3-4 days of my trip because there were unexpected workers on the neighbor' balconies painting and everytime I went out, the workers would catcall at me. So inappropriate! I tried contacting the host but because this is owned by a company and not an individual person, communication was not as great and they blatantly ignored my question. No warning whatsoever was given about these workers coming. It also was not a clean home, there was debris and dust underneath the beds and behind the dressers, clearly showing that no one had cleaned behind there in months. Location was convenient but it was extremely dangerous turning in & out of the complex, almost had many head on accidents because there was blind spots with no lights or mirrors! So dangerous and a huge liability!

Maui Wowie

Shared our Maui time between Kehei and Kahana. Loved the contrast. Kahana was great for family with pool and its own beach access (and turtles). Rooms were clean and spacious and property very well cared for. Convenient to other places of interest in West Maui.

Loved it!

We loved our stay here. We had 2 couples and I loved that this rental had 2 master bedrooms so we each had a bathroom. The views from the balcony were breath taking and we spent every morning and evening on the balcony enjoying the views. Just know that you will need to get your own seasonings including salt and pepper. That was the only thing that was different from the other places we have rented. But, that may have to do with Covid. We will most definitely be returning to stay here.
