Majatalot – Kantō

”A great Kamakura base, right across from the beach. A mixture of ryokan charm and modern Japanese comfort. It is conveniently situated, just a 25-minute walk from Kamakura Station. There is a lovely cafe next door, with information available in the accommodation. The host is very friendly and helpful. The accommodation itself is lovely, featuring two comfortable single beds, an armchair, a mini-fridge, and a spa bathtub. There is a narrow staircase to enter, but this just adds to its charm....

”Great ryokan, very comfortable. Very helpful staff, great breakfast. It was quite warm in the room even with the ac but we still enjoyed our stay.”

”Ihanan tunnelmallinen majoitus vanhassa rakennuksessa!

”This place is so great, and the host is so kind & helpful.”

”The receptionist is I believe one of the hardest working people. He spoke English very well, was helpful, professional, and has improved our stay because of his work ethic. I seriously hope that he is or will become the operations manager as he gives a feeling that he is able to work hard and that he is smart and willing. That being said the hotel isn't super well maintained. The hotel has some spots that are broken/worn out and it suffers the same fate as most establishments in Japan -...

”It has at a good location and quiet place. It’s a private house for our group. Free drinks, snacks and laundry. Definitely recommend to our friends.”

”Great place with deep spiritual and cultural roots. A bit of a hidden gem - clean and modern accommodation combined with 600 years of Samurai history. Temple Priest and Kendo master, Tendou Akitsuki is a great host! Good base to explore Gunma and the alps from.”

”When we arrived, the host was super friendly, accommodating and patient. We came in December and the unit was quite cold and we tried to adjust. The bathrooms are shared, the shower was not but there was 2 shared showers, super cold area and floor (don’t think it was heated). Price, area, convenience, local eats very good. Be prepared for very little English. Thank you for hosting us , I would stay again.”
