”We can't understand how this hotel has a 5 star rating. We travel several weeks a year around the world and I've relied on reviews until now, but... The main pool is full of screaming children, so if you're an adult without children, it's not for you. The adult pool was small and secluded with no amenities. The only restaurant in the hotel is a bar by the main pool, which honestly can't be called a restaurant. The "Deluxe studios" are in separate 3-story buildings with dingy and untidy hallways....

”Our experience at the Westin Princeville during the hurricane was incredibly disappointing, and what happened afterward made it way worse. Because of the hurricane and resulting conditions on Kauai, we were effectively stranded at the hotel for an additional two days. ”The staff was overall wonderful, with one exception. Nothing that went wrong was the fault of the property or the staff. It was the recent hurricane. Two of the three closest restaurants were closed, as well as the Sheraton next door. The ocean rooms were outstanding, though it was rocky surf rather than lapping. You wouldn't really want to go in it. The pool has a bit of an odd shape, and you can swim into the steps if you're not careful. But the yoga on the beach was very nice, the...

”Only positive thing-room was clean. Overall view-the accommodations looked like a jail cell. No windows to speak of. The air conditioner lacked controls. Would not recommend this motel to my worst enemy. Have second thoughts of using Expedia in the future.”

”There is a $25.00 fee per day for the condo (on top of our Expedia charges) and a $15.00 fee for a parking space, also per day. The facility is very nice, the unit had a washer/dryer and two small boxes of laundry soap. I thought it was a bit stingy of them to tell me that I had to buy coffee after depleting the 'sample' coffee by the pot. The location is an hour north of the airport, which when you arrive at night, is a bit of a drive in the dark. I wouldn't stay there again.”

”If you are planning a stay at Poipu, stay at Ko’a Kea. It is a small boutique property but experienced enough to provide great service, grounds and food. The property was well maintained and clean. It is right at the oceanfront and our room faced it, just steps away. Everything we ate and drank from the bar menu and Red Salt was superb. There are a some things that could be improved that are not Hurricane Lowell related. The bathroom and shower could use updated tile and trim and a double sink....
