”Booked this last minute as a 1st stop on a trip around the lakes area, My goodness, I know they say you get what you pay for, but you don't expect to see insects crawling in your bed or on the bedside tables!!!. Asked to be moved immediately which in fairness they did move us to a room on the 1st floor which was adequate but still dirty carpet, tired looking etc Whole place needs a refurb, which I doubt Best Western will be doing anytime soon, and as such the price reflects the condition of...

”The rooms were fine-we’d stay there again. The bathroom fan was running in the wrong direction-pulling air in.”

”The property was was pretty much as expected, The room was clean and big. The issue we had was there did not seem to be sufficent sound deading between the rooms, as we could hear voices from other rooms. Could not hear what they were saying, but could near the noise. Luckily they went to bed about the same time we did and did not wake up before we did, but it not what we wanted or expected. It was in a very isolated location. ”I chose a more budget room, so my view wasnt very nice and overlooked by other rooms (the garden is lovely so maybe consider upgrading to a garden view). However, the room was large, well maintained and I didnt notice any significant cleanliness issues. Bathroom had plenty of surface space for toiletries. The car park can get quite full if an event is on. Food and drinks I thought a little pricey (large glass of wine and a burger £37). Pool was nice and lots of gym equipment.”

”We used the Hare & hounds as a stopover on our way home but will give serious consideration to returning to explore the Lakes from there”

”Towels have strange smell, linens are clean but the duvet itself has some black molds to it. Staff are very friendly though. Very helpful and answers all questions promptly. Parking is also very easy. Just front of the hotel and there are shops open 24/7.”
