”Had an excellent week at the resort. If you need a quiet, relaxing break this is the place to go. There are several kilometers of hiking trails. You can also do horseback riding and be guided through the coffee making process. The rooms are comfortable and clean. Hot water is dependable. Most units have amazing views. ”We (mother 60, son 23) came to El Castillo to experience Rio San Juan. The hotel is perfectly situated next to the "harbor" but hidden in a garden. Wonderful sight to the river both from the room and the restaurant.Large room with terrace, all furniture and details made of bamboo. Food not excellent, good drinks. The town consists of two streets. Have dollars for excursions - no ATM!”

”You can fly directly to San Juan del Norte (Greytown), take a five minute boat ride to the lodge, and stay right in the middle of a 4,500 sq km bioreserve. We flew into San Carlos and took a 6-7 hour boat trip down the river to SJN. Patricia was knowledgeable, informative, and quick to respond in helping me to organize arrival and departure details.
