Be careful what you rent.
This was the worst lodging experience I had in the Keys, which I visited many times. Before I start, I'll just say that this was my first non-hotel Vrbo experience. And I'll never do that again.
The listing did not show the address or location. It was actually located on a dead end street, the front yard had garbage on it, a boat and a trailer were parked near the entrance to the apartment. The apartment itself was fairly clean except for the bathroom. The bathroom had dark short hairs on the shower and on the floor, which as I found out from the owner was from a dog. Which begs the question -Why wasn't the shower cleaned after that? I am totally allergic to dogs hair and was miserable the entire time I stayed in that apartment which was mostly at night. There was no soap other than antibacterial hand soap in the bathroom. It also looked like the apartment was still under renovation. The door frame to the bedroom was not finished and the door was missing. In the kitchen there was no coffee. The cupboards in the kitchen were entirely empty. My stay at this place became more expensive because I had to eat outside even though I brought food with me, since there were no utensils, no cups and no plates. I never stayed in a lodging where I guess would be treated like this. The owner did communicate with me when there was a need for communication. If I knew where the apartment was located, I would have never rented it or even looked at it. The only thing I did in that apartment was try to sleep which by the way was very difficult between my head hitting the window sill behind me and constant allergy from dog hair. The listing states that the apartment sleeps four. I don't know what they would sleep for unless an inflatable mattress was brought in. The couch was only good for short time sitting. After I left the place, I gave the owner my feedback. After I did that, the owner kept emailing me about a remote to the TV, whether I knew where it was and where a placed it. I indicated to the owner several times that I did not use the TV nor have I even looked for the remote. Wish i could post my pictures of the place. This place is most definitely not worth what they're charging for it.
