I should have read more reviews before booking this hotel. I'm not sure when it was rated a four-star property (which I felt we did pay for), but it, and the pictures shown in their brochure, must have been from several years ago. Our room was really worn and there are too many guest rooms for what the hotel has in terms of amenities. Breakfast room is very small (we ended up going out to breakfast rather than dealing with the crowd after the first day); there is only one washer and dryer for guests.
We had to call and ask for housekeeping service after previously requesting it, and then the housekeeper promised to bring washcloths once done with laundry but forgot to do so. We ended up getting what we needed ourselves.
If you luck into getting a fourth-floor room, you have a great view, but otherwise, it's not really worth considering (or paying extra for). If another room's guests are being disruptive before quiet hours begin, more than one guest will need to complain-otherwise the hotel won't do anything about it. The beach requires a fairly steep climb to access, so if you're physically limited, plan on using the public beach access not far from the hotel.
The breakfast and maintenance staff were kind and hard-working. We were able to check in a bit before 4:00pm, which was appreciated after a long drive. I didn't see anything suggesting the hotel was unclean. There are plenty of shopping and dining options close to the hotel. The breakfast was pretty standard fare.
