Fun VRBO
This houseboat has everything needed for a fun weekend and is within walking distance from restaurants on the island. It is a short walk to the charming area of Portsmouth with all its shops and cafes. Very nice to avoid driving/parking there. We had one sunny afternoon and enjoyed the sunset and boat watching from the upper deck. Would stay again!

Wonderful stay
Well, we are already planning our return trip for next summer and I guess that about sums up my review. We loved every minute and hated to leave. The houseboat was spotlessly clean, lovely and well stocked with all the basics. It’s in a beautiful scenic area and local restaurants just a few minutes walk away on the marina road. Portsmouth is about a 10 minute walk over the bridge and Kittery outlets about a 10 minute drive. The best part for us was morning coffee on the upper deck and evening cocktails too. Beautiful views of the River, Portsmouth and the lobster boats coming and going with their hauls. Thank you Suzanne and the Marina staff for a perfect, unique and relaxing vacation. We will be back!

Swaying Stay!
The Boat and Marina Stay was more than we expected...The Manager was very friendly and welcoming, informative about the area regarding places to go and see! The Vagabond Boat was the one we stayed in! Good size for the 4 of us! Plenty of room, It was decorated nicely and clean! We had a swaying Good Time! 5 Stars* all around! Just Perfect!

We enjoyed our stay on the houseboat. The views from the top deck were great. The deck furniture was very comfortable. It is an easy walk to the towns of Kittery and Portsmouth where there are lots of fun shops and restaurants.

So fun!!
We rented this houseboat for two nights in early August and cannot say enough about how wonderful it was! Clean, easy to access, super comfortable, and secure - both my husband and I, along with our two sons, really enjoyed ourselves. We spent a lot of time in Portsmouth, tooling around the old town and eating and shopping. We also explored Kittery and the wonderful lobster shacks there. Absolutely unforgettable!

Heavenly Houseboat
This time of year the marina was extremely quiet and peaceful which was exactly what I was looking for. The property was spotless, cutely minimally decorated and updated and had everything I needed for my two night stay. I hope to return next year.

ABSOLUTELY fabulous. The location was PERFECT. We walked to everything in Kittery and Portsmouth. The folks at the marina could not have been nicer. They made us feel right at home. Suzanne was an AMAZING HOST. We highly recommended the boathouse and when you're sitting on the rooftop deck you will know you made the Best decision.

Everything was as stated in the listing, Suzanne explained everything well and the dock masters were very friendly and helpful. We had all kinds of weather and the boat did great including direct winds and rain during a thunderstorm. I recommend it to everyone.

Fun houseboat vacation!
We were two couples in our late sixties—really enjoyed the houseboat experience (our first). We easily walked across the bridge to Portsmouth—lots of shopping, sightseeing and dining options—and had a great dinner at Robert’s Maine of clam chowder, lobster rolls and fried belly clams. Elephantine Bakery is a must for breakfast and the best pastries we’ve eaten!

Really enjoyed sampling houseboat life with my 2 teenage daughters. The Vagabond was fantastic! Great location with gorgeous views of downtown Portsmouth. Walking distance or easy drive to restaurants and shops. Friendly people there to help. Clean, comfortable and spacious. Kitchen was great, provided everything we needed and full size fridge was a big help. Beautiful water views in every direction, inside and out. We spent hours relaxing on the upper deck. Thanks to Suzanne. Hope to book it again!

Fantastic
This boat is amazing. We almost don't want to recommend it because we don't want it to be fully booked next time we want to stay there! The views from the master bedroom, its private deck at the stern, and the table on the roof during meals are enlivening. It's spacious enough for our family (me, spouse, three children). Sure, the stove isn't very good and there's no oven, but this is how things can be on a boat. You won't be disappointed.

Perfect Long Weekend
Well-maintained, gorgeous views, and a comfortable space for four long-time friends to enjoy lots of on-boat time as well as easy roaming - walking or driving - to Portsmouth or Kittery for shopping and great food. Beds were comfortable, kitchen was sufficient, and the top deck was our favorite spot for many hours. A joy to stay in this lovely oasis.

So worth renting!
This was ideal for a 3 day get-away. A "tiny house" on the water. Spacious, bright, light filled with plenty of windows and cross breezes. The main bedroom had a ceiling fan and half bath, perfect for us. I would bring along condiments, spices etc., if planning to do any cooking on the boat. There is a Keurig machine, coffee pods and sugar packets left by the host, which was thoughtful. I forgot to check what was available for brewing coffee and would have brought along my small coffee maker with me. The fridge is full sized and works well. The dock is nice and sturdy, which I appreciated as one not very accustomed to being in a marina. Kevin, the dock manager, was great about making sure we knew how everything worked and how to contact if we needed anything. It was quiet in the marina, which I enjoyed. I did not find it difficult acclimating to the swaying of the boat. I used the grill provided on the communal deck and the marina bathrooms when off the boat. They are all kept in good condition. I look forward to going back in the spring.

Peaceful and relaxing
This was something different and quite a surprise for a mini vacation and we will definitely return. We totally enjoyed the relaxation and quite setting. The boat was clean and well appointed - everything you could need was provided. Sitting out on the upper deck watching the boat traffic go by was a treat and enjoyable. The rocking motion was enjoyable and helped lull us to sleep. The day we left it did take a bit to get use to being on land again :)

Excellent vacation in a unique setting
This was my second time staying on a boat in the marina on Badger Island and again the experience was fantastic. We liked having a full kitchen and full size refrigerator. It allowed us to buy groceries, cook meals and easily reheat leftovers from our restaurant outings. The boat was super clean and well stocked with everything we needed. The WiFi worked great for streaming TV shows and movies when we were staying in. It is a short walk to many restaurants, shops and bars. We took advantage of that two different nights and walked to dinner for amazing local meals, which we loved! Finally, the locals that manage the boat rentals and the marina activities are some of the welcoming and friendly hosts I’ve ever encountered. Truly a unique and exceptional vacation experience. Highly recommend!

Vagabond Getaway
If you love being at the water, this is a great getaway. The Vagabond was extremely clean and comfortable. The boat is not new but is well decorated and has everything you could need. Suzanne is a great host providing comfortable bedding, thirsty towels, soaps, sanitizer and Coffee pods. During our short visit there was a minor problem with the lights onboard and she was very responsive and problem was addressed quickly. Due to the size of the shower (think aircraft bathroom size) I chose to use the facilities at the marina and found those to be clean and comfortable as well ... but that is a personal choice as there is a shower on the boat. Being September, the marina was not very busy, but those here were friendly and helpful. Portsmouth with its restaurants and shops is less than 1/2 mile walk over the Memorial Bridge. All in all it was a comfortable and relaxing stay.

Great views of Portsmouth from the top deck! Lots of action on the water during the day but it gets nice and quiet at night. Beautiful boat is well maintained and clean. The marina is great with seating and a grill. We had a fabulous experience and would do it again in a second!

Vacation Perfection
It's was beyond relaxing. I have family nearby and it was incredible to have such a magical place to be able to invite them to and still be able to enjoy the tranquility of the views. You can create what you want for your stay from your perfect vacation checklist. Whether you want to shop at outlets or tax free in NH, go to a beach, enjoy a 10 minute walk across the bridge and walk around a vibrant quaint downtown scene, or even just catch some rays on the boat with a cocktail and the one you love...it's all right there!!! We plan on making this an annual vacation spot for sure!!!
