  • One of the northernmost towns along the coast in North Carolina, Duck is an idyllic town on the shores of the Currituck Sound. This shot was taken from the town's boardwalk while looking West over the sounds. It is advisable to visit the location in Winter as that is off season - so you can spend more time taking in the beauty of the North Carolina coastline and also sunsets are usually much more picturesque around the time owing to the cooler temperatures and lower amount of atmospheric haze. Plenty of things around Duck to see. Further north, there is the Currituck Lighthouse where you can climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse. North of Corolla, there is an area where you can drive along the coast on the sand - 4X4s a must. Here you can spot some Spanish Mustangs, horses out in the wild. If you're lucky, you can spot them running along the beach in the surf. I'd recommend taking a tour through the Corolla Wild Horse Fund - the money from the tours is used to help the wild horses in every which way possible and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. When with my family and we all loved the house. It was definitely one of not the cleanest house that we’ve ever stay. Everything was spotless. The house was very close to a bunch of restaurants, shops and bars. Basically walking distance from everything you’ll need. The kids loved the pool and all of the games included in the house. My wife was very happy because they even had kids kitchen plates for the kids as well. Definitely recommend to anyone. The staff were very polite and make sure our stay was the best

Overall the stay was great. The kids enjoyed the pool table and having their own room, with a bathroom. The kitchen was fully stocked to include utensils for grilling. Not a deterrent, but believe it’s worth mentioning that the outside and backyard could use some love. Lots of cob webs around the property and stickers in the volleyball pit made it tough to enjoy that feature.

The BEST Location!

We couldn’t be happier with our stay at The Salty Breeze! The home is located in the heart of Duck, making restaurants, shops and coffee conveniently located within walking distance. The beach and recreation center is a short walk away as well. The home is very spacious and has ample bedrooms and bathrooms for one or multiple families. We hope to stay at The Salty Breeze in the near future- it was perfect for our family!
