The hotel is very run-down: bad smell and dirty old carpeting in rooms, bed with springs hurting your back, hard pillows and bad buffet breakfast. Actually this was our second time staying in Hotel Soleil. We booked it again because it's located in our favourite area and was probably the cheapest hotel with swimming pool. This time I can guarantee we are not booking it again. I had a very weird situation in the hotel lobby. The wifi isn't working in the hotel rooms, so I had to go to the lobby to get a connection. There is a sitting area in the corner of the lobby, but my phone wasn't connecting to internet there either, and I had to stand near the reception desk to get it work. I wasn't on anyone's way or behaving badly in any ways, just standing there quietly and using my phone. Then an older security guard approaches me and asks me to go sit down in the sitting area. I tried to explain several times why I had to stand in the specific place, but the guard didn't understand and was asking me still to go sit down in a threatening way. I refused, because why would I have to go sit down if I didn't want to? In less than 5 minutes the guard approached me again and told me that I HAVE to sit down again in several times. This time I had to ask help from the receptionist, who eventually asked the guard to leave me alone. What was that all about? A very intimidating situation and how bad service attitude. Felt like a prisoner more than a paying hotel guest.
