”We were looking for an “off-tourist” spot since we flew in from nyc and were driving up to La fortuna. This was an absolute gem. Plenty space for kids to run/play, hot springs, gorgeous river stream. We only had one morning, but would’ve easily stayed for a couple nights if we didn’t have our next stop scheduled! Totally recommend this place - be prepared as this is more like a high-end “glamping”. Plenty beds and sleeping accommodations. Very respectful and accommodating staff. ”

”We spent two nights in a boutique type hotel Volcanes. It was located in the very center of Alajuela. It’s a small family run hotel with a good friendly english speaking staff. Breakfast is served by your order and it certainly is fresh. Rooms are very tidy as all the public areas. You can find rooms for different price categories. We liked it very much. ”

”This place is beautiful. In the middle of the hustle and bustle but on the grounds feels like you are million miles from everything. The grounds are expansive and very well maintained. The pool area is lovely. All the staff from Carlos the porter, Roberto on reception, Cindy in housekeeping and Sebastian on the omelette station, basically everyone we came into contact with were wonderful. Upgrading to the executive package is worth it if you are going to be doing a lot of excursions is so worth...

”Everything was fantastic about staying at Urban Green, from the delicious free breakfasts to the helpful staff. In the center of town, within walking distance to the museums, banks, restaurants and shops. I booked for five days and stayed fifteen, and will stay there next time I go to San Jose. ”
