Very spacious short term rental that’s in a great location. Pictures make the main living room look smaller than it actually is! All necessary amenities were present. It was overall very good. One thing to note is this unit is down a flight of stairs and there are other short term rentals above. If upstairs guests are loud walkers, you’ll hear it.

The driveway wasn't sanded or salted and was glare ice. Which was a fall risk. There is not adequate cookware. There wasn't a broiling pan, a coffee scoop, serving spoons, and only 4 tablespoons. There was no foil for cooking, no plastic wrap for storage and no storage containers for left overs. I went to a local store to buy missing kitchenware. We booked this site for access to a grill and stovetop/oven. The grill was not adequately taken car of, there was a mouse nest on the grate. I informed the owner via email and the next day the caretake removed the nest but the grate was not replaced, it was not adequately cleaned or sanitized. Mouse excrement is toxic and lethal carrying hantavirus, leptospirosis, and Salmonella diseases. I really don't want anyone to get violently sick while out of state on vacation.There were no sheets for the futons, which was not disclosed or I would have brought sleeping bags. There is a thick layer of dust on decorations and fixtures despite a 175 cleaning fee. The faucet didn't work well, the button on the nozzle got stuck with the water off and we had to take the head of the faucet off to reset it multiple times. When the water came back on the pressure was so high it would spray your shirt. I really don't feel like I should have to contact an owner while at the site to have these issues addressed. If I pay in advance for a 4 night stay, the site should be as advertised to house the number of people it says. 2 hours ago

Check in was quick and easy. The location just steps from Downtown Lake Placid was amazing. It was close to shopping, attractions, and the beach for some swimming with the doggos. We had a great stay.

Very Noisy

Unfortunately mostly out of the control of the owner but we feel there should be some sign or communication with other tenants to be mindful of those below. Going through the reviews we see there is a common theme about noise from upstairs. It sounded like a heard of elephants. The tenants above had kids and the constant, running, jumping, blaring TV, etc was enough to drive us crazy and make for anything but a quiet vacation. Even the smallest step could be heard, it wasn’t just the kids. Like I said, I know this is out of control for the landlord (for the most part) but when there is review after review about the noise from upstairs there should be a warning before booking this place or signs upstairs for the tenants at the very least. Regarding the actual unit. Perfect location for what we needed being there for the Ironman event. Was much larger than we expected but after being there a few hours it just didn’t feel clean. The floor felt dirty and there were dust bunnies under the couch and beds. When you have a dog that chases ball you find out quickly the floors have not been clean as well as they should have. The hand soap bottle in the kitchen did not work. The only other complaint is the kitchen supply was weak. It seemed like there was just a bunch of mix match pots, pans, etc and over time things have been pilfered and not replaced. Overall very disappointing. Oh and outdoor space isn’t really private as advertised, especially with camera over head.

Perfect location- away from the traffic, but close to walk to everything. Great not to have to worry about parking! Perfect for size for myself, adult daughters and dog. Comfy and clean!

Beautiful apartment- bigger than expected

My husband and I (and our dog) came to stay for a long weekend hiking trip- the apartment was beautiful and far bigger than we expected. We had everything we needed and were within walking distance to Main Street. Would absolutely stay again!

Great last minute getaway

The Giant was the perfect spot to explore Lake Placid from! Just around the corner from the Olympic complex, it was just far enough away from the action to provide a quiet reprieve from the town yet incredibly convenient for exploring the city. The suite itself was perfect for our family of four. Exactly the space we needed. Host was responsive and helpful. Would definitely come visit again!

Perfect place for a Lake Placid getaway

We spent 3 days and 2 nights in Lake Placid. Our stay was great. Placid Peaks Unit 4 was very clean, had all of the amenities we needed and more, was a great location to downtown’s activities and a short drive to other Lake Placid things to do. Would highly recommend and will hopefully be back.
