”We recently stayed at this hotel after a long 13-hour drive from San Antonio, Texas, with our family of four. Initially, we reserved a room with two wide beds, but to our pleasant surprise, we received an upgrade upon arrival. The upgrade included two rooms, providing us with a total of three beds, which made our stay even more comfortable. The hotel pool was a fantastic addition to our stay. ”Nice place. I recommend staying here. On one of the busiest street in Sante Fe, but in a good way. The rooms are set back from the busy road–some farther than others–but I did not hear traffic either night. It's convenient to stores and restaurants and downtown/old town. There is breakfast buffet that costs more, and they will charge you an extra 15 on your bill for it, so you might as well eat there if you can.”

”The room was clean and the bathroom was updated, which was nice. Pool was closed indefinitely. Check in took a long time, the clerk had trouble processing a $100 cc authorization. The breakfast was average for this type hotel.”

”This is NOT a three star rating as posted by the questionable "Anonymous" reviews. We left after one hour due to what appeared to be blood stains on one of the lampshades, and just general uncleanliness. There was a pile of someones dirty clothes sitting in the hallway. There are many lodging options in Santa Fe - Pay the extra money and avoid this place. I have yet to see one positive review of this hotel that wasn't "Anonymous."”

”I've stayed at El Rey many times, and I always enjoy it. The rooms are large and smartly decorated, there are many fun events that regularly occur on the property, and everything is well maintained. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful, although the bartenders at La Reina seem to favor local patrons and can sometimes be aloof. The La Reina Mesita foodtruck is a bit hit-or-miss, but is nonetheless convenient. Overall, it's a fun place with great amenities and is centrally-located....
