”The hotel in the Expedia listing stated it was 6 minutes by vehicle from the main park. With no traffic it was 15 minutes and with traffic, it was 30 minutes. I chose this hotel thinking it was close to downtown. There were only 8 TV channels and the internet was terrible. I wouldn't stay there again.”

”The property and gardens are gorgeous! The only thing is there’s no AC in the rooms so it can get a little warm at night, other than that it’s great!”

”Hotel Sol is an excellent choice to stay when visiting the Panajachel area. Unlike many other places in the area, the building is secure, very clean, the rooms are big, the shower (hot and cold water) actually works, and the staff are attentive and helpful. Although the hotel is in the periphery of Panachel, for less than $1 (5 quetzales) you can hop into a tuck-tuck and go anywhere in Panajachel. I have stayed in several places in the area and Hotel Sol is my number one choice.”
