This was so bad it is hard to describe
The house was disgusting (big brown cockroach in the kitchen, many very dirty dishes in the cupboards, the pool was extremely dirty) and that is not the worst part. The worst part was to use the hot tub they have to turn on the heat to get the water warm. To heat the water, they charge $25 per day to be paid 2 days in advance so they could turn it on to heat it up in before we got there. Without paying the fee, the hot tub is useless so we paid $75 for 3 days, in advance so they could heat up the hot tub for us.
When we arrived, the hot tub was cold. I contacted the host right away and they sent a sarcastic note asking if I know how to read instructions on how to turn on the hot tub that they had in their directions for the house. I replied I had turned it on but the water is still cold. I asked how long does it take to get warm. They said 24 hours, not seeming to understand how idiotic that was. The following day, the hot tub turned off on its own because they have it on a timer, so the water went cold again and was going to take another 24 hours to hear up. The same thing happened the next day so we couldn't use the hot tub. They knew this and didn't offer a refund. I asked for one and they said they would review my request. After a week with no refund, I contacted them and they said they were still reviewing it. I had to contact VRBO to contact them to get the refund. It took three weeks. Worst host ever!
