The Laxey Wheel which is also known as Lady Isabella is built into the hillside above the village of Laxey in the Isle of Man. It was built in 1854 to pump water from the Glen Mooar part of the Great Laxey Mines industrial complex It is the largest working waterwheel in the world.

The whole place could do with a lick of paint and a bit of modernisation, but nice clean and spacious room, with clean bathroom. Great breakfast with friendly, helpful staff. Nice pool area and big (sports) bar, serving good pub grub. Great sea views from the pool and bar.

Perfect place for our family trip. We had 5 adults and 4 kids. The house was perfect, enough space to spread out and have a bit of privacy and also be able to gather comfortably when we needed. The views, the air and the peacefulness were amazing. We’d love to come back and stay here again.
