”I loved this place. Very unique and perfect for me. I wouldn’t say quirky, but I seek out places that have character. The staff was very helpful with area questions, as well. Do much better than a hotel!!!!”

”At check in Bruce was super helpful, giving a short tour of things to see in the area. This place serves up a super comfortable bed, microwave, mini fridge and coffee maker. You have your own parking spot in front of your room. There is also an indoor pool and hot tub. Very convenient location in Custer! Clean, convenient and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again when in the area.”

”Very comfortable bed room was clean and quiet. We stayed three nights and there was hardly anyone else staying there. Their breakfast was not as full as some other places but had the waffle maker and cereal options and muffins. Very easy access to downtown area.”

The hotel is conveniently located near Mount Rushmore National Memorial, with plenty of nearby coffee shops and restaurants. The host was friendly, responsive, and helpful throughout our stay. The breakfast was decent and convenient for a quick start to the day.”

”Nice place- comfortable room. The desk manager was on a personal phone call when we walked in. We had a room on the 2nd floor and requested a change. No issue. Never asked for ID but did ask for my cc. He couldn't recommend any local restaurants either. That didn't impress us.”

”Under Canvas was absolutely stunning. We loved everything about our stay — the peaceful nature setting, the beautiful views of Mount Rushmore, and the overall atmosphere. The staff was friendly and the food was great. It felt special, relaxing, and memorable. Highly recommend!”

”Loved this place. Great for our little trip to see Crazy Horse and Mount Rushmore. Beds upstairs could be a little better but everything else was great. Quiet location and pet friendly.”
